Wonderful experience! I went into the store with 3 suits which I had purchased from Men's Warehouse over the years. I had lost 25 lbs of fat and put back on 10 lbs of lean muscle over the course of 16-18 months. I wanted to get an evaluation of what it might cost to tailor the suits because they all fit very poorly due to the major body composition changes.
I worked with the store manager, Michael Tokarz, who helped me measure and evaluate each pant and jacket and also educate me on the garment anatomy, how they are adjusted during tailoring, etc. Without going into too much detail, most of my garments required 2.5-3" of fabric reduction to bring them in enough to make them look presentable.
To say the least, the adjustments that would have been required for each garment were significant, I would go as far as to describe them as aggressive and on the fringe of what was possible based on the original size of each item. Each of the slacks were literally falling off of my and I was almost swimming in the jackets. This description is only a mild exaggeration.
I was in need of a well fitting suit for a formal engagement later in the month and time was a factor. With an understanding of the tailoring that was required and the cost for each garment I also investigated a new custom suit. There were multiple very reasonably priced options and Mike helped give me the details and answer each of my many, many questions.
A new custom suit was priced at $400, which was very reasonable priced. When you take into consideration that the custom suits include lifetime adjustments to any seam - the price is even more appealing. I need at least one well fitting suit and cannot quickly replace my entire wardrobe (one negative consequence of losing a lot of body fat). The cost of one new suit was reasonable compared with spending $230-300 on major alternations for 3 suits.
I plan to continue my fitness endeavors and will definitely be putting more weight back on over the next 12-18 months. The only areas which cannot be adjusted outward if my proportions increase too dramatically are the shoulders in the jacket and thigh in the pants. Essentially these are the most challenging garment specific restrictions. Knowing that I am planning to put on lean weight, the free adjustments fast became an advantage over potentially adjusting 3 garments multiple times.
Ultimately I made the decision to purchase a new custom suit. The delivery timetable and option to have a garment which will fit well tipped the scale for me. Mike was incredibly informative, transparent about all of my options, and not the least bit pushy. He provided me with honest feedback and multiple options which allowed me to make an informed decision.
Many months from now when I have a better guage for what my long term measurements will look like I will test of the free garment adjustment policy and if as advertised I plan to purchase multiple additional suits for business and personal use. Not all of my experiences with Men's Warehouse have been positive. That being said, this was without a doubt the best I have had to date. Fantastic...
Read moreThis is difficult to rate as the sales associate, Mike, who was helping us was great but a colleague (Roxanne) who continued to be disruptive, rude and overall disgusting, presented a lot of discomfort and tension. While Mike was grabbing our suit options my fiance asked where he could find shades of brown, to which Roxanne first told my fiance he should be showing our 3 month old around the store (though we were there to look over colors for our groomsmen), then proceeded to tell him the color we were looking for (chocolate brown or complimentary to) was a poor choice as itâs not in style nor fashionable. Mike brought out a swatch with many brown and shades of options. She asked me what else my bridesmaids would be wearing to which I said nothing, just chocolate brown satin dresses and whatever jewelry they would like- her response was negatively stated and said, âthatâs oddâ. She interrupted our session a few times, asking our daughterâs name to which she said she didnât like and that it was too long, and said she would call her something else. I asked her to please not. Roxanne then asked for our daughterâs middle name and decided to throw a âyâ onto it, making it cutesy but nonetheless, not her name. I had picked a tie out to gift my father to wear as he walks me down the aisle, and she grabbed it off the table and put it back. All after our sales associate, Mike, had asked her to please stop and go take a break as he could tell we were uncomfortable, annoyed, and she was not representing the floor in an appropriate way. It never ceases to amaze me how 1 person can ruin an...
Read moreAbsolutely horrible experience at the County Line and University store. As a college graduation gift for our son, he came down from Golden to meet with us at this location so we could buy him a new suit for his post-graduation job. They didnât have the jacket in his size in stock for the suit he picked out, so they said they would grab some from their Lakewood location and bring them in on Wednesday if we could come back Wednesday or Thursday. We had our son come back down from Golden to meet us again on Thursday because that was the only day this week he had a small window of time. But, when we got there, they told us they forgot to bring the jacket from the other location. They apologized but offered nothing else for wasting our time and wasting our sonâs time and gas getting down here. We were just told they would bring the jacket in on Monday if we could come back on Monday. There was no point in time where the staff at this store even put anything in their system or wrote anything down to remember to get this jacket for us. I thought Menâs Warehouse would have a system in place for this type of situation but apparently they are just an unprofessional, unreliable mess of a business. Am I crazy for thinking there should be some sort of official system in place to get an item from one store brought to another store for a customer, and be able...
