Not sure why this listing says Plaza Bel Air. The picture is the bar area at Bazil's Restaurant where we have taken friends several times over the past few months. The bar area is very nice (love the low, comfortable and wide chairs shown in the picture - the antithesis of those skinny tall bar stools that you often see these days) and the bartenders are excellent. The pours are are just as generous as the drinks are tasty. Hard to put into words but a really a nice vibe. Reminds me so much of my favorite restaurants and bars in Chicago, where we lived for 10 years until we became "native" Californians for many years. That being before discovering Tucson.
We've tried several different entrees so far and found very one very, very good. This time we tried pizza as many friends have raved about it. We chose the Bazil's Special and wow, to say delicious would be an understatement.
There are several very good Italian style restaurants in Northern Tucson and we've not been disappointed by any of them. However, this is the best regardless of price.
But speaking of price, Bazil's is also the most reasonable of this group. The rent the owners are avoiding from being located in a nondescript strip mall location is being passed along to their customers.
It's true what they say about customers beating a path to your door. We arrive early and then the dining room is almost empty. When leave at 7 or so it is full. We are never rushed but do alwys have reservations. Probably a good idea for everyone as the tables don't turnover as fast as they do at the chain run boutique...

I actually use to live in this area & in the matter of 4 short yrs l watched that whole intersection "Alvernon & Grant" jus completely desolve, it was a very sad scene bcuz it was a very nice working class neighborhood, a Green Walmart is the only thing as far as grocery store remains but l honestly have to say that it's probably the worst Walmart store I've ever been in, I'm sorry for such a negative post but I'm jus being honest & only wish to make aware to those venturing into that area, one would be better off goin down the road a few blocks to...

After that, I walked back to my car. I also like the Bel Air Plaza since it is directly across from The Sunrise Pet Clinic (my cats' vet) as well...
