Would be no stars if that was possible! Spoke to someone claiming to be the owner of this business on June 21 , regarding the replacement of a 8-10 foot piece of muffler pipe and a muffler that is attached to it. He wanted $650.00 to complete this job and it includes labor and material. This is about a 200% to 400% markup of average muffler shop prices in Chicago. This shop is in a very rural area and it’s absolutely ludacriss to be marking up labor and /or material in such a rural place with lower overhead &/or labor costs. He also has absolutely no A.S.E. Certs , and is extremely arrogant, rude and obnoxious. He acts like a con man and his prices are totally ludacriss and a rip off . He takes advantage of people with no mechanical or automotive buying experience in an absolutely sick way. A total narcissist and con man of the worst kind! Me and my colleagues have brought many jobs to this man and he has ripped us off every time. at no time, did he ever charge a reasonable price even given that we’ve paid him thousands of dollars of markup prices on previous jobs . Please don’t take your car to this man. If you are looking for honest and low prices, I would suggest going to Amerimax Muffler . They do all sorts of work and do not mark up prices and labor like this man does. Do yourself a favor and stay clear of this place. Eventually, this man will be judged by God and his business will be shut down and the wrath that he has scorned on people will be paid back in spades. Given his narcism , I’m sure he will have a ridiculous excuse so I will be more detailed! The entire exhaust system was available at auto zone for $250.00 and the labor would be like 30 minutes to install. Yes I know that I’m not talking about factory stock prices, but the AutoZone stuff would at least last 10 years, which is more than most people keep their cars so there’s no reason for this man to be paying or charging for factory prices which I’m sure he’s not actually doing! Stay clear of this place and go to a more quality professional place like...
Read moreI am very disappointed and pretty disgusted in the treatment of women they have. You always hear about car places trying to scam women (because they don't know anything ) into paying for services that are not needed . I did not want to believe it until this experience with mike more miles. I have been getting my oil changes here since they opened the new location . I was driving with my kids and my parking break light came on and wouldn't stop beeping. The parking break was clearly not on but I was concerned driving with my kids so I called them to see if they could check it out to make sure there were no safety concerns. This was a new to me but used ford f150. I was happy they could get me in so I stopped there with my two kids. They did a break check and came out and told me I needed all new pads and rotors on all four wheels and handed me the quote. When I asked about the parking break they stated they didn't see anything but could look closer once they had everything off while replacing the breaks. I told them I would need to call and make an appointment as I had the kids with me . I took the truck to another mechanic to do the brakes as he is one my family uses and could give me a slightly better price. Turns out the front breaks had 50% left on the pads and he told me the back brakes were brand new . well pretty new as they were probably done right before I purchased the car. He then proceeded to show me what the break pad looks like on a new pad and what mine looked like. They were new and the rotors on the back were in fact still shiny . It breaks my heart that a women would come in with her children concerned for their safety while driving and their first thought was to try and get me to pay almost $800 for a service that was not needed. Do...
Read moreLast month, I called to make an appointment for an oil change for one of my collector cars. I asked if I could bring my own oil. They agreed but only deducted $5 from the oil change price. Good luck trying to find 5 liters of oil for $5. Today, I wanted to get an oil change for my 2016 Cadillac using their oil. I had their punch card punched for an oil change in August 2024, and an oil change in February 2025 without the punch card. I was going to get an oil change today and bring in that punch card, but I couldn't find it. I asked them to give me another one since their system reflects that I was there in August 2024 and February 2025, and paid for two oil changes, but the employee told me the manager is adamant about customers having their punch cards with them at the time of service despite the fact that the system properly records each visit. That strikes me as a greedy and unfair gimmick, especially in this day and age when many folks carry credit cards on their phones. Other businesses with similar punch cards honor their own recordkeeping and would quickly issue a new punch card. Mike More Miles would rather play games with its...
