Menards — Local services in Fox Lake

Danielle, in the garden department, was exceptional. She saw me with a flat truck with eyes glazed over trying to find a effective "crack" grass killer that wouldn't kill my outdoor cat, she succeeded and then took that one step that differentiates an employee that is there for a paycheck from one that wants to see the company succeed by doing all she can for the customer she is helping by providing the best service she can give, e.g. She saw that I had a flat truck and therefore asked if there was something in the brick section, that I needed, smart woman and right again. She hauled my truck out to the brick yard and after I picked the wrong color pave bricks which Danielle had already hauled on to the flat truck when we past the correct color, she said "let me unload the order and I will be back to place the correct color pavers on to the flat truck and I will haul it," she made sure that I had everthing I needed and and checked what I had in my cart to be sure I had chosen the best for the job, then hauled the truck to check out and assured me that if there were any problems Menards would want me to return and exchange pavers.

Danielle, is the perfect example of the employee that will make me kiss Home Depot goodbye and say HELLO MENARDS.

You have a credit to your organization, and her name is Danielle and she works for the Menards in Fox Lake, Illinois. She is the best you have and recognizing her and other employees like her you are going to only strengthen your REPUTATION and in doing so, bring back satisfied loyal repeat customers. I certainly will be returning more often...

Normally love Menards, but the customer service at this location is lacking. Needed a product exchange, but didn't have entire receipt for online order (only brought the part that the email stated to bring for the online order pickup). Since I didn't have the entire receipt or my wife's credit card, they offered me store credit towards the product that I needed - BUT they lowered my refund amount from today's sale price to the lowest price in the store history. Seriously, Menards? Couldn't honor today's purchase price for an exchange? I didn't have time to mess around with going back & forth for receipts & with products, so cut my losses for convenience. Online ordering flop.

This isn't the first online order flop either... We once ordered dog food online & had the convenience of having it picked off the shelf for pickup. When we went to pick it up (while in a bit of a time crunch which was why we paid EXTRA for item pickup), but were told that we had to go wayyyyyy back around through the outdoor security gate to get the dog food bag. When we got there, there was NOBODY around to get us our order or help us. & of course we got stuck behind someone having issues with security in font of us. Seriously?! I could have grabbed a bag from the shelf quicker.

We'll stick to the Old Fashioned shopping at Menards...

I always have a good experience at our Fox Lake Menards. Today I had to grab a desk fan, and of corse you end up picking other goodies up! All the fans seem to be on clearance, with this humidity we need that break lol. I had a question about my rebate and Vionca ( hope I spelled right) was so nice she actually took the time to go and show what they send back in the mail for your rebate. I missed my last one and now I know it looks like a postcard with a bar code. Menards might want to find a way to send the rebate to our emails. They have 11% rebate on everything. I also found out Menards has envelopes. Business and letter size. I bought letter size 100 for $1.99. And I picked this cute tray up to carry a dinner plate, cup and utensils. You could also use this if your caring for someone who wants to watch tv and eat. I think the silverware holder might actually work to put a medicine cup in with daily meds. Or fun for the kids! I’m going give it a try. For $2.24 and comes in blue, red and green. Might be fun not just outside but inside too!!! Thank all the sales employees who answered my questions again even if it wasn’t...
