Gillespie County Fair Grounds — Local services in Fredericksburg

I visited these fairgrounds last month for a Monster Truck Wars show. It was very easy to navigate to, and parking was free. The huge grass parking lot seemed to accommodate everyone with ease. The event did appear to be sold out. Security was very light, as I don’t believe there were metal detectors. There were lots of concessions stands open, and one huge merchandise table. The seating here was split into 2 sections: VIP and GA. Usually VIP is the closest to the track, but GA was the bottom level seating this time. There were some chairs to sit on, but most people were standing under the grandstand. The VIP section was up higher in the grandstand. Luckily this area was shaded. First time attending the fair last night and we will NEVER be back! $20 entry fee plus $35 armband is a lot of money to not be able to ride but two rides because hoodlums kept cutting the line and when reported to security they did absolutely NOTHING and told us it was the responsibility of the carnival staff, who spoke no English. Security said they were only there to maintain the peace, lol, so I’d like to know what exactly does that mean? When kids are cutting the line, being told they are cutting, and just laugh and ignore you, and are pushing people who were standing in line for over an hour. Y’all need to do better!!!
