My mother and I have been antiquing for a long time. We have never been accused of theft until today. Honestly, it was pretty disgusting running into a different person's store, accusing people of stealing a bag of buttons that were $2 on 50% sale. It made everyone incredibly uncomfortable. Turns out your store has several different sections where buttons are sold. We put them back because we didn't want to deal with the person at the counter complaining that we are buying something so low in price on card because we don't carry cash. Maybe go check and verify your baseless claims before you ruin a person's day. It's been a while since we have been here since it's so far away from us, but you can bet that we won't be coming back.
I don't like how you store your glass and vinyls either. What's the point of even displaying stuff that's so damaged and broken? I'm just angry with what happened today. Get better security or actually walk around and observe if you feel that you have a theft problem. Otherwise, it just makes you look like a jerk, and it loses you what little business you have. Especially considering your product doesn't move and I see the same stuff in the same place year after year. Last time I came here was last year and I saw stuff this time that I saw last time. Incredible that you can't even keep track of...
Read moreMemory Lane is exactly the kind of spot I’m always hoping to stumble across. Tucked a bit off the main drag in Redwood City, it has that quiet, almost meditative vibe — low lighting, faint classical music playing, and shelves full of vintage objects that feel genuinely curated, not just crammed in.
I wasn’t planning to buy anything, but a hand-painted porcelain tea set caught my eye — soft blue detailing, probably mid-20th century. It reminded me of my abuela’s place growing up. The set was priced around $120, which seemed fair given the condition and completeness (all six cups + saucers, no chips).
What I appreciated most was the space itself — no loud upselling, no clutter, just room to breathe and look. The person at the counter gave me a little context on the maker when I asked but otherwise let me browse uninterrupted.
If you're into objects with history — or just want a break from sterile, mass-produced everything — Memory Lane is worth a detour. It's not loud about it, but it really gets...
Read moreInteresting but over-priced mix of things in the store with worst staff on the entire stretch of Nile’s blvd. Niles blvd is my fav go-to place with friends to find Knick knacks for my little decorative projects. I have stopped going to this place after a couple of unpleasant visits !
Alice is an unfriendly woman who shouldn’t be minding the counter but even worse is the bossy woman who walks around in a ton of gold bling/bangles ! She acts like she is doing you a favor answering your question or showing you something . She has a very bossy and rude disposition . And she freely expresses her judgement , eye rolls, snide remarks and has no manners .
I can think of a few better cute and fun stores on the street where you will meet friendly and fun...
