I have a Mitsubishi rear projector tv (really old, I know) that has lost power supply. I searched online to troubleshoot it, but couldn't figure it out. After calling customer service, I was referred to Coast to Coast Electronics. I called them twice, but no one answered. I then decided to try Palm and Shields as referred by another customer review on this page. The man on the other end answered almost immediately and was very polite and helpful. I asked what it would cost for a diagnostics test on my television, to which he quoted me at $95 and informed me that that fee would also go towards any repairs needed. He told me, however, that the particular issue my tv was having could be easily diagnosed at home if I did not wish to be charged the initial $95. He gave me a quick rundown of how to track down the power supply problem and then told me that I can always take it to them if I wanted to. I was amazed at the quality of the customer service that this man gave and the ethics that he had by not trying to sucker me into just bringing in the tv right away. After getting off the phone with Palm and Shields, I received a voicemail from Coast to Coast. The voicemail was from Angela who asked me to call back when I got a chance. I was very surprised to have received a call from Coast to Coast, as I had left no voicemail and had only called twice with no one answering. I called back and talked to Angela. She seemed to have a sense of urgency that was not appealing. Her attitude made her seem like she thought I didn't know what I was talking about. Granted, I am not a television repairman by trade, but I had done my research extensively already and, besides, Palm and Shields was able to understand me perfectly well. At any rate, I asked how much it would cost for a diagnosis of the problem. She told me that it would be between $250-$350 to diagnose it and an extra $50 to have someone come out to look at it. So I was looking at a $300-$400 charge just to find out what was wrong, whereas Palm and Shields gave me an option that could be free for me. I definitely don't recommend this place for any repair needs. I'm sure they have done some great work and have given great customer service before, but this was not the case this time. My advice is to see for yourself. Give Coast to Coast a call and ask them for a quote or just tell them what your issue is. Then give Palm and Shields a call and say the exact same thing. For one thing where they happily married Angela and Her Beautiful Kindness Manager on there Business. When they were located in Oak And Shields. That man was the nicest and kindness gentleman when they had that business back in the late 80's . The nicest and busiest business very kind man. He was sharp and very honest. Those two crack me up in the days, he was a honest man never over charged always spoke the honest truth to customers. Too back they got divorced, and because once they separated the business was never the same quality I ran into that poor old guy on black stone and Shields poor guy looked lost he wanted a ride I gave him a ride to Clinton. And Blackstone I never forgot about him. I didn't charged a dime for a ride he wanted to give me his last dime. I told noped u know why buddy, because ever since I have known you sir you have done great tv repairs steroes computers and any electronics at hardly no he would charged if it needed fixing you can't find good honest people liked that ever. I. Think Angela missed her husband, because she's never been the same person as she was when she was married to that man of 40 to 50 yrs if marriages. I hope he's ok. She was a nice person too, she was lucky to be married to a kind gentleman classy man super nice man. God blessed him and Angela I hope she's ok her and there sons been along time since I seen the whole family since they were in Shields and Palm. They gave me an estimate on my tv. They had replaced the.lamp before and done ok. But I wanted a second opinion so I took it to palm and shields tv they estimated a lower cost repair and informed me that my lamp was not the cause this time, they simply had to tie back a lamp switch? Coast to coast wanted to charge for that AND the lamp and additional labor for the 'separate' problems. I understand they are having trouble staying afloat but coast to coast lied to me and the other place didn't and I'm sure they are struggling as well.
