Mountain View Cemetery — Local services in Fresno

I dread coming here and no longer feel comfortable visiting my mother's grave on occasions like Mother's Day because of others that bring food (mini BBQ grills included), liquor, music and chairs and turn a place of reverence into a party scene. This has happened on several occasions and the staff there claims that there is nothing they can do about it because the cemetery is public. To each their own in how you choose to celebrate the lives of loved ones that have passed on...but there is also an appropriate time and place for everything. It's so sad that people don't seem to have enough common sense and respect for others visiting the cemetery to leave the burgers, boomboxes and beers at home. My grandmother was buried at Mountain View some years before my mother passed away and I know she wanted her final resting place to be close to her mother so that is the ONLY reason that she remains here. I agree 100% with the review that states to have your loved ones buried...

On Friday August 8th, 2025 my family was double booked for their brother/son funeral! Not only that they gave him the wrong burial site!! We had to move to the side after just fifteen mins of the funeral so the other family can lay their loved one to rest! They didn’t finish junior services! Now we are being told the cemetery won’t do anything about it and that my family was rude and that’s all LIES!! How are you gonna double book a funeral and give the wrong burial site and then lie!! This is so unfair that they won’t be doing anything for my family when they were all in the wrong!! Don’t lay your loved...

So if you have the opportunity to Burry your spouse or loved one Elsewhere please do so. Nothing but bad business here. My girlfriend Kim and her family Have their mom and dad resting Thier after I seen the gravesite myself I would say these folks had Thier parents disturbed,😢 and the Rose's and and Thier flowers, Angel's, Reef's and the stepping stones I placed Thier myself all gone, when they more then likely placed another body on top of Thier parents.
