How many times have you heard; I'd rather have a root canal when talking about a bad situation? Well; I'm well into my middle age years, my regular dentist sent me to Dr. Wang for my first RCT.
First impression; Scheduling the call was very pleasant. "We look forward to seeing you!" Glad you are, but I'll be the judge of this.
Got me in quickly and first impression, a nice well decorated and clean office. The staff was VERY caring and welcoming.
Next, meet the Doc. Excellent disposition, easy to talk to, infectious laugh and charming personality.
Now to the meat and potatoes of the visit!
I did my research before arriving as all patients should of their doctors. I don't care who they are. I liked what I read about Dr. Wang's training and practice history. Dr. Wang comes with great credentials and a passion to the speciality that is Endodonics. So far, so good!
Now the treatment. Of course it's not inexpensive, but you get what you pay for in life. That training, experience, equipment and three visits (yes three visits for my case), cost money.
The actual treatment, wasn't bad. I didn't have any prior experience to prepare me, but Dr. Wang is cognizant of her patient's comfort during the procedure. I have to say, not my top ten things to do in life, but I can HONESTLY and SINCERELY say I believe I received the BEST treatment possible!
I do not like people hovering over me and have a spatial paranoia. Dr. Wang did great with this. Walked me through each of the next procedures and what to expect. There were no surprises.
I appreciated her making sure that everything was done to what she holds as a high level of treatment to afford the utmost percentage of long term success on the procedure.
After the first visit; I received an unexpected call from the Dr. to check on me. The second visit, a call from the office as well. Always ending with the words, "You have any problems or issues please call us." I like that!
So today we finished up. Dr. Wang is impressed with her work and likes the way it turned out. Hopeful and optimistic on my part we had an issue, it was address with what I believe is professional and highly skilled techniques education and training.
I also learned that Dr. Wang in her bio does give back to the community. In speaking to her, I learned she gives time to the VA hospital in Dallas to address as one of two Endodonic doctors the needs of our vets. Another plus in my book from me!
I'll end this review with the following. Root canal is not something I think anyone wants. But at the end of the day, when attempting to restore dental health and save a tooth, this is the place to go! My career experience has been in emergency services. I learned long ago, when situations arise, you want solutions not more problems. I truly believe I got the best with Frisco Endodontics. I truly hope this review will ease some minds or concerns for those facing the same issue on where to go in the area for this specialized dental care.
Be sure to ask Dr. Wang not to put you in the "rust" treatment room. There are two treatment rooms. Both have beautiful color large paintings. One pretty cool, the other reminded me of "rust." The doctor thought it was funny! Again, all part of building that doctor-patient relationship to alleviate any apprehensions and make the total treatment a success.
I wish all equal satisfaction and success in your dental procedures. And truly hope this review helps out if just a little. This is a great office with great staff and...
Read moreWorse experience ever!!!! I've had root canals before, this place was by far the worst! Got a root Canal in two visits. First visit Dr. Wang wanted to do the entire procedure in one setting that took 3 - 4hrs to do in 2 visits. The first visit took 1.5 - 2hrs just to clean out my tooth, because she said that I had a deep cavity which was fine. The not so ok moment was when she had my mouth open the entire time (no break) with a rubber object in the side of my mouth. When I asked to rest so that I could massage my jaws after having my mouth open entire time she got upset and told me that I could schedule a second visit, because I was taking too long trying to rub the soreness out of my neck and jaws. Instead of trying to comfort me she was boasting about how thorough she is and how none of her patients come back for rework. She also told me to take some Ibuprofen before I come for the next visit, never appologized. On my second visit, it took about 1.5 - 2hrs to do the root canal. Same setup mouth open rubber object on the side of my mouth. During the procedure, saliva filled up in my mouth and I asked for a suction. Dr. Wang did suction my mouth, but didn't get the access saliva that was trapped behind the rubber object. I told her that she didn't get it all so she said that she didn't see any saliva and stuck the tube so far down my throat until I gagged. This has never happened to me in my yrs of going to the dentist. As she continued, she was taking x-rays after every impression trying to get to the Canal of the tooth. I understand that this is apart of the procedure, but she did this at least 20 times which is excessive. Also, during the procedure Dr. Wang was doing other side jobs like working on two computers, mixing and preparing stuff, opening packages, and taking x-rays. This was being done all while my mouth was open. Those things an assistant could do to help speed up the procedure. After 2hrs of having my mouth open, sitting in a too small uncomfortable chair, and being laid back so far that my feet were higher than my head (which made my body weight unbalanced), Dr. Wang's response was that she works under a microscope. Rather than leveling me out she offered to give me a pillow which did nothing for the body weight. When finally finished, I immediately got a massage, because I was in so much pain. I have never had to get self-care after any dentist procedure ever. I will not be returning. The only reason I came to this place is because I was...
Read moreI had a great experience with Dr. Wang and her staff. I read through the negative reviews and it was surprising how opposite my experience was. Dr. Wang and her staff are incredibly kind, helpful, and responsive to your needs and questions. I got a full written price breakdown up front. I had to change my appointment times a few times and they were super accommodating. The facility is top notch, comfortable, and clean. Dr. Wang has impeccable “bedside” manner/patient care. She was personable, friendly, and was consistently asking if I had questions. I had all kinds of random questions, even just about the tools she used and she answered all my questions. She also asked me questions to get to know me as well. During the procedure if I fidgeted or moved around, she would ask me if I was okay and if I needed anything. My last root canal experience sucked. Dr. Wang had to fix the work from the last root canal and the experience was 1000% better. I would say it was about as painless as you can get for a root canal. To be fair, there’s some slight pain/discomfort when you’re being numbed, but it’s not bad at all. And then there is sometimes pressure during the procedure. Yes it takes a bit of time, mine took like 1.5 to 2 hours. So I would say it’s the best experience you can have getting a root canal, but also folks, it’s a root canal. So it’s obviously not going to be the equivalent of getting a facial… because it’s still a root canal. If I end up needing to see an endodontist again in the future, I will absolutely return to Dr. Wang as long as she remains in network with whatever insurance I have at the time. Thank you Dr....
