UPDATE: 7/15/24
The Food, Service, and Ambiance here are truly exceptional. Nik, Chris, Sabina, Audi, and the crew make you feel like Family. The welcoming vibe and energy of this place speaks volumes and is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the Vllasaliu Family. We had patronized Eddie Napoli's for several years and I was excited to hear that Nik was branching out when this place opened a few months ago.
This is our fourth visit and it continues to be our go-to for Mediterranean Italian Cuisine. Started things off with Mediterranean Margaritas this time. It is clear that only the freshest ingredients are utilized in its preparation. Chris was able to strike just the right balance of flavor and sweet without being too tart. We were also able to enjoy some Garlic Bread with Olive Oil/Balsamic for dipping prior to our entrées. Mom ordered the Beef Stroganoff, I ordered the Prishtina with Lobster (per Chris' suggestion), and we split a Berry Olive Oil Cake for Dessert. Such good food. Will always be on our list of regular restaurant rotations. ——————————————————————————When I found out a few weeks ago that the Vllasaliu Brothers had opened a new Italian/Mediterranean Fusion Restaurant in Frisco(at Legacy and Warren), I was so excited! I knew before even enjoying a meal here that it would be phenomenal - we're talking 5 stars phenomenal. It's a family business and you would be doing yourself a disservice by not stopping by.
My Mother and I have had the privilege of enjoying several meals over the years at Eddie Napoli's. Unfortunately, since 2019, I have developed a severe allergy to eggplants AND mushrooms, making it difficult to dine out - primarily at Italian Restaurants. Nothing happened at Eddie Napoli's, but I have dined at other establishments where unintentional cross-contamination occurred in the kitchen. I was apprehensive about becoming ill and the judgmental stares I would possibly get from other patrons trying to enjoy their meal, so I just avoided it altogether - that is, until today.
Walking in, you immediately feel the positive energy and aura of the delightfully adorned, modern, intimate space. The color scheme is similar to something you would see in a professional interior designer magazine. Furthermore, the muted grays and hues of blue incorporate both Italian and Mediterranean elements that lend an intriguing aesthetic value to the space.
We were greeted, seated, and handed menus by Sabina - our server - with a smile. I immediately felt great vibes from her and she made our entire first visit memorable. I told her that we were longtime patrons of Eddie Napoli's and had been acquainted with Nik and Louie since 2013. From start to finish, the mimosas, salads (Shope Salad and Caprese Salad), entrées (Meat Lasagna and Caprese Sandwich with Fries) and two desserts (Limoncello Cheesecake and Baklava Cheesecake)that we ordered absolutely hit it out of the park. The icing on the cake (so to speak), was the amazing cappuccino with just a touch of whipped cream and chocolate that was made by Nik himself. The intensity was just right and was a palate pleaser and a perfect way to end our culinary journey. Sabina checked on us throughout our meal, made us feel welcome, and made us feel like Family. I have already told her to expect to see us very often in the future. Looking forward to subsequent visits.
Can definitely see us being regulars here. Food, service, and ambiance - all excellent. I especially loved the fact that the portions were ideal! Not huge like you see at other establishments. It is clear that the Vllasaliu Brothers have a laser-focus, passion, and commitment to high food quality standards while providing phenomenal customer service in an atmosphere where you are welcomed like Family. We will be back....
Read moreMy wife and I recently had the pleasure of dining at Dua Trattoria, and it was nothing short of an exceptional experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality, setting the tone for a wonderful evening.
The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the impeccable service provided by Jennifer, who not only served as our bartender but also as our attentive server at the bar. Jennifer's remarkable suggestions and attention to detail truly enhanced our dining experience. She went above and beyond to ensure that we felt comfortable and well taken care of throughout the evening.
We were also pleasantly surprised by a visit from Nick in the back, which added a personal touch to our evening. It's evident that the staff at Dua Trattoria takes great pride in their work and genuinely cares about their patrons.
Now, onto the food – an absolute delight! We started with the Capelletti, which featured succulent short rib filling. The combination of flavors and textures in this dish was nothing short of incredible. The ravioli was cooked to perfection, striking that delicate balance between being neither too soft nor too firm.
For our main course, we had the Paillard, which provided a delightful taste of what Italian-Mediterranean fusion cuisine can be. The flavors were harmonious, and every bite was a delightful journey through the Mediterranean and Italian culinary traditions.
Overall, our dinner at Dua Trattoria was an unexpected and amazing culinary adventure. The exceptional service, combined with the delectable food, left a lasting impression on us. We are already looking forward to our next visit and can't wait to explore more of the menu.
If you're looking for a dining experience that combines exceptional service with mouthwatering Italian-Mediterranean cuisine, we wholeheartedly recommend Dua Trattoria. Thank you, Jennifer, Nick, and the entire Dua Trattoria team, for making our evening truly memorable. We'll...
Read moreLast night, I visited Dua Trattoria in Frisco with a party of five for a 7 PM reservation. Upon arrival, I was told there would be a 20-minute wait, which was confusing as I had a reservation. After I asked for clarification, we were seated immediately at a large booth—an odd experience that didn’t start the evening off well.
After being seated, I waited quite a while for a server to arrive. When he did, I ordered a bottle of wine and five waters, but it took quite some time for them to arrive. To his credit, our server was clearly overwhelmed, handling far too many tables without adequate support. I empathized with him and did my best to remain patient.
Once my group arrived, we immediately noticed how loud the noise level was. We were seated in one of the side rooms, which was filled to capacity. The room's structure amplified the noise, making it almost impossible to hold a conversation. While this wasn’t entirely the restaurant’s fault, it definitely hindered our overall experience.
The pacing of the meal was also an issue. It took 45 minutes for our salads to arrive, and another 25 minutes after that for the main courses. While the food itself was enjoyable—everyone in my party liked their dishes—the long waits were frustrating. My chicken parmesan was tasty but needed a bit of salt to bring out the flavors. Once seasoned, it was great. My child’s chicken alfredo was delicious but surprisingly featured large chicken tenders that required cutting, which felt a bit out of place for the dish.
Overall, for the price, the food was good, and our server did his best under challenging circumstances. However, the extended duration of the meal (two hours) and the difficulty in holding a conversation due to the noise level were significant drawbacks. If I return, I’ll aim for outdoor seating (weather permitting) or a table in the main dining room, where I suspect the acoustics may be...
