We just had the pleasure of celebrating our sweet baby boys arrival next month by hosting a baby sprinkle at Mr. Toads Pottery. From booking to wrapping up the event everything was made so easy and the environment so cozy and comfortable! The private party room was perfect for our needs and Del was such a great dedicated staff member to walk us through the process of choosing our pieces, painting, and organizing them for fire and pick up. The place was PACKED this day but staff remained friendly and helpful and we had an entire area of the studio to ourselves to enjoy our party. The variety of pottery pieces available to choose is unmatched.. from canvases, ornaments, planters, household items and figurines they’re bound to have what you’re looking for. The studio supplied everything we could have imagined and had tons of education for different washes, paints and techniques to elevate your art pieces! Mr. Toads and the sweet owner have been such a blessing to this small town and I hope that you’ll go check them out with family or friends -but also highly recommend hosting a pottery painting party here as well! They have printed schedules available with creative events every day of the week from pizza stone making to holiday themed paint nights - and the studio hours are more than accommodating! 10/10.. I can’t rate this studio...
Read moreIf I could give zero stars, I would. Upon entering the business, we were greeted by a young man, who talked to us for 5 minutes and we had no masks on. He then proceeds to tell us we need masks if we're not sitting at a table, even though we hadn't had them on the entire time he was talking to us. We witnessed one patron walking around without a mask. My wife asked if we could just sit down (there was a table right behind us) and he said we needed to walk to the front of the store, which was about 10 ft away, get a mask, then go to a table. We could have just sat at the table behind us. The mask mandate has been lifted in Maryland for months. I understand small businesses can make their own rules, however, the MASKS DO NOT WORK. If this establishment is so concerned about spreading covid, why are there not more precautions being taken. The doors are not sanitized every time someone enters or exits the building, not all of the tables are 6 feet apart, there could be plastic partitions put up, but there's not, people can freely touch the ceramic pottery and nobody sanitizes that before someone else touches it. If you are going to mandate a USELESS mask, maybe you should take other precautions to make it look good. We will not be returning, or patronizing...
Read moreCute place to create your own masterpiece! They had ceramic and canvas painting. They also had candle making. The ceramic was fun. Pay attention when you first get their to instructions on how to paint it. The pain appears lighter than you want until they fire it later. They have a great set of examples on the wall by the paint so you can figure out what your color will look like once it is fired. I looked up photos on Google to help me paint my fox colors. I'm not a natural artist and I still had a lot of fun. Give yourself plenty of time to paint because you need to do at least 3 coats or the color will not be solid. They have all kinds of brushes and other ways of putting the paint on your piece. You will have lots of fun. The large pieces cost a lot more money but you can find something small around $30 if you need to go on the lower end of spending. This will also make a great gift for someone. They sell gift cards on...
