TLDR: Location staff are unaware of GameStop website and do not follow regular GameStop policy on trading devices. KC, an associate, is combative when asked questions. N. Salisbury location has much better service.
To trade-in devices at this location, you must be logged in to the device with your personal account. KC advised that you should not wipe your phone, as you will have to log back in and restore your backed up data to receive a valuation. When asked about why an apple account is needed to evaluate an iPhone’s value, KC said it was necessary to see the battery life and condition of the phone. KC became combative when asked why an iCloud account, including access to Apple Pay data and personal photos, is necessary to evaluate a phone’s battery condition. KC was combative and directly contradicted GameStop’s website, which states “To maximize the trade-in value of your device, delete any personal or sensitive images or data from the device.” KC stated that she was not aware of the GameStop website, and refused to acknowledge that the GameStop website existed when shown it. She did not provide a phone number when asked how to confirm the policy she was stating. She said there was probably an “800...
Read moreBought a preowned game here and ended up disliking it so I went to return it exactly one week after buying it. The employee seemed confused and like he did not know what he was talking about. He first said that because it was the 7th day of the 7 day return policy, I couldn't get my money back. I explained that it says on the receipt that I can still return it as it is not past the 7 days. He then said he can't give me cash because of Covid-19 and I said that's fine, I just want my card refunded. He refused and said he could only give me store credit. Then he proceeded to explain to me that apparently the reason people buy preowned games is because they can trade them in for another game if they don't like it, which doesn't make sense since the receipt clearly says preowned games can be returned within 7 days for any reason. I took the game back and called the store in Salisbury mall and the employee there assured me I can return the game and so I had to drive twenty minutes out of the way just to get my money back. I do not recommend this particular store, you're better off taking your business to the one...
Read moreI truly have no idea why your company keeps this kind of employee. The woman at the counter today, August 20th, shortly before 7:00 PM, was shockingly rude and acted as if she despised customers. She couldn’t even offer a basic greeting, even though I was about to spend a significant amount of money in your store. This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable — she clearly should not be working in customer service. I live close by and normally come here, but if this behavior is ignored, I’ll take my business online or to another location. Your store doesn’t deserve my money if this is how you allow staff to...
