Michaels — Local services in Gainesville

As usual this is a very hit or miss store, I came in for scrap booking papers, no one who works there spoke to me as I entered except the young lady who was setting up the last of the Halloween displays on the main left hand isle. She was blissfully unaware of me as I walked u behind her so much so l had to speak to her to announce my presence. She seemed genuinely surprised as l spoke to her when she backed up & very nearly collided with me in the isle, that's when I noticed that one of the senior ppl a woman I believe to be past 50yo had been watching her do her work from behind had carefully turned away not interested in letting the young woman know she was blocking the isle to the customer. At least she said "excuse me!". Knowing where the items I sought were that's where I began combing the few isles & found very little of what I was looking for. Prices on the paper were not correct luckily a recent hire was pushing his collection cart around & I could ask him the price I was about to buy 4 sheets of 12"x12" papers @.79cents each until while heading for the cash registers back up the left hand main isle I happened upon an endcap having about 20, 12"x12" 48page Fall paper pads on it. These few pads of paper were 9.99 but at the moment were priced at 4.99usd each. I traded the 4 loose sheets for the pad pdq. So that along with some pre cut shapes I also found "on sale", I also found the pad @ half price. This is the first slightly positive outcome at this store I have had in 5 years. I hope there...

i had to go to this michaels location because the things i needed at my nearby location were out of stock. the man over the phone (i think charles) was super helpful and even went to the aisle to make sure what i needed was in stock. when i arrived in store, this very kind lady named Kyla helped me out. she knew where everything was and was super kind to my grandmother who is hard of hearing. when i asked where 3 things were 3 separate times, she was not annoyed by my many questions and was ecstatic to help me. she told me the aisles that the items would be in and was correct on all of it. she’s a great employee and deserves more credit!! thank you for a...

Went in expecting prices to be marked up 50 percent or more from what you can get online, was not disappointed. There are a few things that are hard to get outside of a box store though. Haven't been in a Michaels in years (i try to avoid all mega craft stores if possible). This one has cleaned up significantly since my last visit 3+years ago. Gone were the obnoxious scents of spiced pinecones and candle fragrances that give you an instant headache (though admittedly i might have been out of season for them).
