I used to frequent this location often enough that they recognized me as I entered the door. Always so friendly, warm, and inviting. I purchased items for myself, friends, and gift cards for others. Today, my daughter’s Girl Scout troop was outside their store. A fellow friend (Caucasian) walked out of the store and mentioned to us there was a free bag included with a purchase to the first 25 customers. We went in minutes after. An employee noticed my daughter and I looking at bracelets, she opened the display case so we could see and touch the merchandised and left us unsupervised. That’s the trusting and friendly service that I was accustomed to. All was fine until I got to the register. Hmmmm, apparently not free to everyone as I (Asian-American) made a purchase. No other sales were made when I was in the store (slow day). A dark haired person behind the counter asked if I wanted a bag with my purchase. I looked a little puzzled, so she continued saying, “we charge 5 cents a bag.” Maybe my item was on sale and that didn’t apply? Just got a bad vibe overall from her.
