I had been looking forward to trying Cafe Roma since moving to the neighborhood. One night, my wife and I were really craving good Italian food - and thought for sure Cafe Roma wouldn't disappoint based on all the reviews and delicious looking photos. Boy were we so wrong.

We ordered take out during the pandemic.

Fried Calamari Shrimp & Scallops Alla Panna Chopped Clams w/ Linguine - White Sauce

Our bread was stale. The calamari was old and chewy. We ended up throwing it away. The clam linguine was pure salt, but probably the best thing we had. The shrimp and scallops alla panna was so oily and heavy. The cream lacked flavor. It just tasted salty and oily. The noodles were overcooked and mush. The scallop didn't taste fresh. We didn't end up eating very much and just threw everything away. Complete waste of money.

On top of that, the order took a lot longer than quoted.

I had ordered 3 takeout dinners from their online menu. When I received them a nice young gentleman checked out my order. What I found was that I was overcharged on all three items. I brought it to his attention and brought up the website with prices. He told me he would get the manager . The manager, an older stocky man came over , I told him the pricing issue . He said he had a couple of restaurants and I must have pulled up the wrong one. I showed him the menu website and prices , then he said the menu was just redone by someone so they must have made a mistake but he would not honor the prices listed . (If I didn’t have a guest at home I would have left the food there as he was rude and inappropriate as I was being respectful but requesting he honor the prices listed. (Each item was $6 more).

I left angry and, even though I’ve enjoyed the food in the past, I WILL NOT BE RETURNING to this restaurant. Very...
