Osaka Ramen & Sushi — Restaurant in Gaithersburg

I don’t want to give them a 1 star review because I don’t believe in bashing a business on a mistake, but something worth noting. I placed an online order around 6:38. I attempted to pick it up around 7:11 (after running errands not realizing how much time had gone by) and was given the wrong order. Someone with the same first name, but wrong order. When I brought it to their attention their demeanor was annoyed. They told me I placed my order a “long time ago” and when the other person came to pick up their order they gave her mine because they assumed it was hers. The lady explained to me they don’t ask customers what they ordered. I worked in restaurants for 7 years. I always confirmed with customers what they ordered, even just a few items, to confirm I was handing them the correct bags. Mistakes happen for sure, I just wasn’t pleased with how they handled the situation. Instead of apologetic and kind, she offered excuses and made it appear it was my fault for picking the food up too late. She was visibly annoyed. She tried to get the order restarted but I didn’t have time to wait for it at that point so I requested a refund and went about my night. The food here is good, that experience was just a bit...

I have to say the service and attention of this place was great. First time here but would like to come back and try other menu items. Ordered the lunch special, 2 rolls, spicy salmon with cucumber and shrimp tempura as well as the Shoyu Ramen. Whenever I try someplace new I like to try items I often order to compare to what I know.

That said, the food was mediocre, not in a bad way, but doesn't really stand out. The sushi rolls were fine, good balance of fish with rice with spicy mayo. Not too much spicy mayo where is covers the taste of the actual fish, shrimp tempura roll was good, clean and seemed deveined, unlike some other places I've tried. The ramen was where I guess I expected more. The broth wasn't as flavorful as I hoped, the chashu pork was a bit dry but had nice color.

But the best thing was the service and atmosphere. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Food came out quickly and the rolls were prepped well. Meaning they did not break apart when trying to pick them up with chopsticks.

But I would like to come back and try other menu items as some of the items I found online looked good but as I said earlier when going somewhere else new I always order what I know first before...

My wife and I googled Osaka Ramen & Sushi restaurant and dined in here this past Tuesday night. She was a bit reluctant to eat here at first due to the basic decor and the fact that no one else was dining in. However, once we tasted the food and experienced the friendly and prompt service, we were overjoyed! We shared the Shumai for an appetizer, which was lightly fried with a delicious sauce. Next, I ordered the Miso Ramen which had lots of yellow noodles with vegetables and tofu. My wife ordered the Teriyaki Salmon which came with a salad, Miso Soup, six Sushi pieces. All the items were delicious. We also drank Saki. The server explained that the restaurant had just received their alcohol license weeks ago. To top off the meal, the server gave us each a sesame ball for dessert on the house. We ordered the Japanese egg rolls to go. The bill was only $64! As a new restaurant, we hope Osaka Ramen & Sushi thrives because the quality of food and the value are among the best we have tried in quite a while. We recommend this restaurant...
