Tidewater WiFi — Local services in Galena

So bad. The speeds have been unacceptable for months. Every time I do a speed test, I get more shocked each time at how terrible the speeds are. I have seen .04 download speed, and .01 upload speed on a regular basis. The inconsistency of the internet is astonishing, you wouldn't believe it. One day, we have 40 mpbs down, and the next we have less than 1. I wish that there were other options for me, but unfortunately, no other providers are available in my area. I wish that the speeds were the only issue that we have had, but sadly it isn't. We have been "banned" by the "internet tower" for "overuse". This concerned me, because we pay each month for UNLIMITED internet. I'm not sure if they are aware of what UNLIMITED means, but to my knowledge it means, no limit, use as much as your heart desires. To close this out, I have not been satisfied with the performance, or the customer service at all. If you are looking for internet and you come across Tide Water Wifi, I would keep looking. We have been with Tidewater since 2016. Since then, the service has gotten incredibly worse, customer service has gotten terrible. Never answer messages on Facebook (which is the ONLY way to contact them until Covid-19 is over). There prices have gone up so high I don't know how anyone can afford it. Dial-up is faster than the service I get. They take advantage of those of us in rural areas than cannot get high-speed or other wired connections. Sad. Stay away! Customer service was great, now they have shut off their phone service and expect you to contact them via internet when you don't have any. If you provide a honest comment on their page about their service or lack of it just gets deleted. We have purchased 4 modems and two routers to assist with the service, driving to their facility (Over 240 miles of driving) after being promised to meet us or come to our house.
