Before I review the food I want to comment on the cleanliness of this restaurant. It’s very clean. Whoever wrote the comment that the restaurant is dirty is wrong. The kitchen is actually right next to the dining room. You can see the entire cooking area. It was clean. Also, the dining room was clean. The staff is very friendly and bilingual. Now, onto the food. The guacamole dip is FANTASTIC!!! I highly recommend it. The chicken tamale was one of the best I have ever eaten. It is wrapped in a corn husk. Very light and tasty. The tortilla chips were a bit overcooked but still very nice. The steak burrito I got was HUGE. There was no way I could have eaten it in one sitting. It’s big enough to have for 3 meals. On the down side, I did not enjoy it too much. Maybe because it was made with hamburger, which technically is steak....also, it was a bit greasy. It was very heavy on the meat and rice and very light on veggies and beans. I feel that I would have enjoyed it more if it had a better balance of meat and veggies. Though it was a bit bland, after adding the mild and hot sauces that came on the side to it they packed a wonderful POW to the overall flavor. That said, I will get a chicken burrito next time. Has plenty of leftovers so I feel it is...
Read moreI gave 1 star for food because we never received ours. We arrived at the restaurant approximately 5:45pm, my husband placed our order, I ordered shrimp chimichanga and churros, and he ordered quesadillas. He also got a beer as we sat and waited. We noticed folks ordered ahead so they were able to walk in and get their food, maybe next time we said as 35 minutes went by and we're still waiting. A family of maybe 6 or 7 came in, was seated, drinks delivered, and ordered taken. We are still waiting. We weren't offered chips like the others but hey we are doing take out. Now alllll the other folks are gone. They start serving the family that came in after us their food. As I get up to leave because now it's been an hour and your serving guest that came in after us clearly they don't want our business, she says your food is coming next. I told my husband they have 5 more minutes and we are leaving. Here she comes but she's bringing more food to the family. So yes, we left. We patiently waited for our food for and hour and 10 minutes. The only reason we stopped was we heard the food was good and it was Tuesday. I will NEVER go back. I'm not saying it was a racial thing but we are black the family that didn't have to wait was...
Read moreA hidden gem in the small town of Galena MD. This is where you don’t mind waiting for your food because you it will be all worth the wait. I was expecting the food here to follow in the old tex mex tradition but was pleased to find the menus trending in a traditional Authentic contemporary direction with emphasis on lean, fresh and organic fare. My favorite dish here is the tacos, your favorite meats topped with cilantro and onions wrapped in hand made from scratch corn tortilla served with choice of fresh green avocado & red spicy salsa. They love what they do and they do it with a passion, the owner is super sweet and makes your experience a pleasant one. The chef/owner and his staff (family) are staunch advocates of the farm-to-table concept, sourcing produce, meats, poultry and dairy products almost exclusively from Maryland organic farms, all food is prepared fresh and is very reasonable they also have catering services for your special events. Don’t wait and go stop by you won’t regret...
