Garden City Civic Arena — Local services in Garden City

Showed up 40 minutes early to sticks and pucks at 630. Stood in line for 15 minutes behind maybe 10 skaters. (There were actually probably 15 people in line but some of them were parents that weren't skating). Finally got to the counter to sign my son up and there were already 20 spots filled and no more spots to get on the ice. There is a clear big sign at the desk on the wall that says signup begins 30 minutes before. And then another sign on the actual sign up sheet that says 10 minutes before. So this is a little confusing to me. How were there 20 spots filled within 5 minutes with only about 10 skaters in line before me and all of a sudden all the spots are filled up? I called after I left and asked for a manager and that took forever and then he gets on the phone really abruptly and starts getting mad at me for asking questions and asking how I would run it and started raising his voice at me to where I had to raise mine back, and hang up on him. I never liked the arena or staff . Definitely definitely not going to be going there again and very glad my son does not play for Garden City Stars as well just to...

Well to start off I'm a newer skater and not so comfortable on the ice. With that in mind the teens that are skating have no consideration for people that are new skaters. They take the things that people lean on to help them skate and basically play bumper cars and fling them all over the ice. The employees that work there could care less with what's going on. They are to busy staring at their phones then paying attention to all the rowdy teens that are skating the wrong way or cutting people off. I do not recommend this rink to anyone and my family and I will not be back. The ice was like skating on gravel. It was so bumpy and difficult...

My son plays hockey for the Garden City stars that practice at the Garden City Civic Arena. We love this Arena. It's small and only has one ice rink but that's all that we need. I would highly recommend the Grand City Stars for anyone looking to join hockey as our coaches are amazing at all levels. My daughter's also do learn to skate here and absolutely love it. The teachers further learn-to-skate programs who are also some of the teachers for their figure skating programs are absolutely amazing and wonderful with...
