OceanSide Village — Local services in Garden City

I can not speak HIGHLY enough of the homeowner and her home at Oceanside Village. This review is on Oceanside Village only. If you consider coming here, just know that the key card they recommend you rent, you pay 30$(cash only) with 10$ back if you return it. This is for use of all gates on the premises entering and exiting AND “FREE BEACHFRONT PARKING”. FYI: Please note that paying 30$ for the key card does not guarantee you have a parking spot. I was turned away at 12:30pm stating there was no availability. I had my 6 yr old granddaughter with me in a wheelchair with a full leg cast. She could have been carried from the parking lot to the beach, but not from the distance of where our rental home was. It was a great disappointment to be at the beach, yet not on the beach. I’m sure use of all gates will come in handy during the busy seasonal times but traffic and packed beaches was not the case during my stay the first week of June. I live in SC and come to Myrtle Beach often throughout the year. I was not willing to go down the beach and pay for parking again so we went to the pool. My suggestion to management: Be transparent with your customers! Put in writing, right where you recommend the 30$ key card in the notebook binder left in every property rental of their Do’s and Dont’s, that free parking with key card is on a first come, first serve basis. Office management stated they didn’t have to state anything. No empathy, no apology for my situation and the inconvenience it caused for my granddaughter, and absolutely no consideration of a refund for a service...

Me an my family decided to do it different for mustang week… I will agree with what some of the reviews are saying. The staff at the office is classless…. Very flat an boarder line rude… The fitness center 30 dollars per person for the week with a 5 dollar refund if you turn card back in… You can access the main gate anytime without the gate key card… BUT access to the beach private parking is for key card only … 20 dollars with a 10 refund if you return card…. It appears they do nickel an dime you hear… The place we stayed allowed our dog. 100 per dog???? This 3 bedroom trailer was ok… it did what it had to do. Had a golf cart. AC run non stop kept it about 75 during the day if you’re cooking 80… appears duct work is cooling under the trailer. Floor apparently is rotted near kitchen sink. Mold seems to be present affecting several in my group…. Drain in master bath you could see the ground in the day light… We wanted somewhere where we could bring our dog. Shouldn’t been any charge for a dog with the way this place is kept. Probably my last time here… seen some nice houses here. It’s not worth the headache dealing with the people in the office. An the little extra fees for something that should be part of the vacation. The fitness room again a fee for nothing more then a motel fitness center??? An charge me to park at the beach???? It’s a good walk unless your close to the beach. Bottom line…… it’s not worth it…. A generic...

Really nice place everyone that was staffed here was extremely nice and helpful.. the only thing I can say bad was the people that drive the cars inside (SLOW DOWN) there is children inside the village playing and riding bikes golf carts everywhere people walking or running and some of the people in this vehicles are just to fast for this area .. slow down.also the rules clearly state no one under age should be driving the golf carts… ok they are bad to not enforce the rules inside the village.. kids are loud in these golf carts with music LOUD and it’s bad when you have a child trying to go to sleep. They are cussing and riding crazy thru the place and very disrespectful.. the rules are in place here for not only the Home owners but for the vacationers as well. If they are not going to enforce these then don’t have the rules at all.. extremely disappointed. The pools could do with some upkeep for sure . But in all I do like that you have a private area to drive to park and be able to get right on the beach front that is a major plus .. but I believe they the rules need to be followed since they are in place and the home owners are paying...
