I was born and raised in Southwest Kansas. My entire family is from southwest kansas And if you ever needed flowers for anything, there was only one place to go and that was wharton's. But it seems like times change. I no longer live in Southwest Kansas, I'm in Utah. And when my mom and grandparents died, I had no problem with Wharton's taking care of me. However, however, I recently had Another family member pass and when I called Wharton's. I found out that they were going to pass. Pass it off to another flower shop. They first advised me to call that company which was closed. And then when I called back. I was told we'll just call them on monday They open at nine, the funeral is at 10. There is no way for them to get that done prior to the services. The fact that they would take payment. Pass it on to somebody else. Not do any work and keep a cut for themselves. I was then advised to Pick them up and take them myself. This is the type of stuff that happens when the second or third generation of family takes over. This was an extreme disappointment I will never again Contact this company for anything happening back home It seemed like they just didn't care anymore. When people are dealing with the loss of a loved one. They don't need the added stress of dealing with a company like this. Find an...
Read moreI have lived in Garden City my entire life. Wharton's is the only game in town for sending flowers besides Dillons. This was my second visit where the owner Mr. Wharton was incredibly rude and disrespectful to me and also to my adult daughter. He seems to enjoy belittling people that don't "know as much as he does" about flowers, trees or anything. It's almost as if he seeks out opportunity to make people feel stupid for asking anything. I would not put another penny in these peoples pocket. I'll shop out of town, online and yes at Dillons for fresh flowers. Hoping someone else opens a flower shop in Garden City soon. I am a business owner in Garden City also and would never dream of speaking to a...
Read moreIf I could give 0 stars, I would. Paid $$$ for a flower arrangement for my mother’s birthday, sent them a picture of an a arrangement from THEIR OWN website, and was extremely disappointed. Not only was the arrangement completely different than what I sent them, it was ugly. Even my mom knew something was wrong. I spoke to a lady who was the owner or manager, and explained to her that it was not what I paid for and all she could tell me is that they were still “pretty”. If they didn’t have the flowers, why not give the customer a call and let them know? I was a loyal customer up until this point. Luckily, Dillons has not...
