Here are the Issues that I have with Dallas Harley Davidson in Garland Texas. First and foremost I have had nothing but bad experiences at the service level of this Dealership. My 1st experience was a relocation of my turn signals and license plate. When getting my bike back I didn't get 5 miles and 1 of the turn signals was hanging off the bike. Service found that they had stripped the threads on the signal and it had to be replaced. (I didn't have a big issue with that as mistakes happen) My second issue was that I had just over 2,000 miles on my bike and found abnormal wear on the brake and throttle cables and I was approached by a young lady in service that was pleasant and showed concern as I hadn't had the bike but for about 2 months at that time. At that time Jesse an Assistant Service Manager started giving her grief in a rude manner for taking care of the issue. In fact Jesse's comment to me is that it was a Harley thing and that those cables were going to do that. (He seemed reluctant to want to take care of it and told me it was going to do it again) I really did not feel he even wanted to come up with a solution nor seemed to want to take the time to calmly deal with it. It took roughly a Month for them to even get it into the shop for repairs as cables were on back order I was told. In any event during that time I started hearing a Howling noise from my bike and started getting concerned as it at times would get very loud if I traveled very far, so when checking to see if my cables had come in I brought this up to Tim and notes were taken and he said that they would look at it when I had the cables done. ( OK no problem ) Anyway the Howling seemed to get worse so I started checking Harley forums to see if others were having similar issues and there were different items from a belt being to tight to other issues with primary and brakes. So back to the dealership I went as the Bike was making the noise and I had checked the Belt which seemed too tight and I also noticed that I had a blue ring on the rotor and that the Nut & Rotor itself was extremely hot. On that day I meet Zach in the service department and I must say that he was helpful and very intuitive. In fact Zach took the time to notice himself that the belt felt tight and that the rotor was way too hot. So I made arrangements and my bike was left with them. They changed the cables and I was told that they could not get the Bike to do the Howling after 5 miles and I again let them know that it seemed to do this Howling when I took longer rides. In any event they kept it for another day and said they could not get the Bike to do the Howling Noise. This was very confusing to me as there was no doubt this was happening. So while I was there I seen Zach again and told him the story and once again he looked at the Bike and we noticed that the belt must of been adjusted as it was not near as tight as it was. (Which was not noted on my paperwork) So when asking about it I was told that the guy in service probably checked it and adjusted as needed. (OK than why not note it, this very well could of been the problem) Anyway I had also checked and found that this could very well cause the issue with the back brake and the bluing of the rotor that had abnormal groves and such in it for not having very many miles on it. At this point I asked about why nothing was done and got nothing but lame answers. In short not 2 days went by and I took the Bike out and ended up on the pavement when the Brake locked and sent me for an accident. I now really came to the conclusion that I can't trust the service department that makes changes and don't note them and than makes no effort to change abnormally worn parts. I can't feel that this is not part of the reason as I feel without a doubt the back brake was an issue and a contributing factor of the accident. It's a shame that there are good people like Zach and the young lady that initially helped me there that have to put up with rude and distasteful remarks.(This does not show care for...
Read moreUpdate: so we have been asked multiple times to change our review so I will start there.
The dealership did come and pick the bike up and service it. However again the bars they fixed have the same issues. The issues we complained about are all back. If this bike was properly inspected and serviced prior to us buying it these issues would have been found. If their service department and their senior mechanic was as incredible as they stated the bars that he put back on wouldn’t have come completely loose. Our review stands. We will never purchase from here again, nore will this dealership ever touch our bike again. This has been the worst experience and all I wanted to do was surprise my husband for Father’s Day and all I have done is added a huge issue that we have to deal with.
**Hands down the worst buying experience. Item #1 make sure you check your finance paperwork. With money down….our first contract had us paying MORE than the bike was listed for with a sizeable down payment. The guy then proceeded to argue with us about it and then realized he was wrong. We honestly should have walked out right then and there but since we drove 3 hours to purchase this bike we stayed. Finally they got us to a finance person who we thought knew what she was doing and it turns out we got screwed a second and a third time. So after we finish all of our paperwork the original finance guy was walking around glaring at us and talking trash about us to our sales guy. This went on for 3 hours until I finally found the GM. Who apologized and said he would handle the rest of this to make it smooth. Nope! We had to call to ask them to pay off our trade in. Took way too long considering we paid a bigger down payment than our trade in. Our due out was never ordered we had to call. Now our registration is messed up. We he bike was never detailed. This has been a nightmare since day 1. We do not recommend this dealership. It absolutely needs new management. How can an entire sale be messed up this bad?? We won’t even go into the mechanical issues that this bike has. This was hands down the worst experience. Thank you Dallas Harley Davidson for ruining my husbands Father’s Day Surprise.
I also gave the dealership plenty of time to rectify this issue before writing this review. I have left two messages for the GM who has never...
Read moreI bought a BEAUTIFUL bike from this dealership just over a week ago. Michelle and I talked over the phone and set the numbers. I came in from San Antonio a few days later after a couple of conversations with Alex. I walked in the door and Alex called out my name and greeted me at the door. How awesome is that to be welcomed in and made to feel at home? There are only 2 things I can say about the experience that I didn't like.
They knew I was coming and the paperwork wasn't complete. The bike wasn't cleaned up, I CHOOSE to believe because it was only 36 degrees and they didn't want it sitting in the cold after a fresh wash.
I decided to have it put on my truck instead of riding it back in that weather. Kelly was so awesome she called the Gruene Harley (dealer close to me) to see if they would remove it from my truck. Without hesitation they agreed and were waiting for me when I got there. I only had 2 straps with me a dark haired gentlemen with braces and another gentlemen who appeared to be in a supervisory position worked their tails off in order to ensure the bike was secure. The supervisor went as far as to get and place a tire at the head of my bed to ensure my bike fender didn't get scratched. I wish I had a picture to show you all. I left and went up the street to get some extra straps and was called by Alex basically looking for me and told me he wanted to place the bike in transport mode I said I would be right back. I drove up and he was actually standing outside waiting for me, remember it was freaking 36 degrees out there, and all he had on was a thin hoody. the dark haired gentlemen saw us out there and without hesitation secured the bike with additional straps for me. that bike rode 4 hours on the back of my truck traveling in excess of 80 mph and didn't move an inch. Lastly, Alex presented me with a Gremlin bell, which if you know anything about it them they are gifted in friendship to ward evil road spirits not by dealership. All in all I would have to say my experience was awesome. I would recommend this dealership to anyone I came into...
