Almost every day when I pick my son up from daycare, he will declare “I want to go somewhere fun.” I tell him, “well, we’re going home.” He gets all huffy and says “but home is boring.” Then I threaten to donate all his “boring” toys to charity and he usually cuts it out. However, on this very special day, I decided to take him “somewhere fun”; since his 5th birthday is coming up and I wanted to scope Chuck E. Cheese out as a potential venue.
Now that I am ostensibly an adult, I realize the genius of the ticket prizes. You tell your kid it’s time to go and they get super-bummed out. Oh dear. Such wailing and gnashing of teeth. But wait! Soften the blow by telling your child(ren) that they have “earned” tickets by playing games. They now get the agency to choose what they want to exchange hard-earned tickets for, and they get something to focus on and fawn over/play with as you drive them home. My 4-year old could afford to get two little plastic frogs (specifically an orange one and a purple one). Were they worth the $18 I put on his game card? No. Was it worth it to see him having fun at the arcades and then cherishing his prizes on the ride home? Yes.
We unfortunately did not have very much time, so we did not get to try the food. We will return soon to assess the pizza. I will then update my review accordingly.
My initial impression is that the staff here on Friday night were very friendly, my son found the games very fun, and I am very much looking forward to bringing him back to this bona fide “somewhere fun” in the...
Read moreThe worst Chuck E. Cheese's I have ever been to. There was no clean tables. I had to ask several times to have someone clean at least 1 table for us to sit at. I paid for two stuffed crust pizzas and only received one. Several games was not working. All the drinks tasted water down. I went to turn in my daughters' tickets and we patiently waited in line and the Spanish guy saw us. Some Spanish lady jumped in front of us and the guy just went on speaking Spanish to her as if we haven't waited 10 mins in line to be helped. Then a black lady came to help us but she did not subtract correctly. We had 444 tickets. Got 10 bracelets that was 30 tickets each. We should have had 144 tickets. The girl tells me there's 111 left. Ok I didn't want to seem petty over 33 tickets missing. So my daughter got another toy for 10 tickets. That left me with 100. I got two more things for 10 tickets each and the lady tells me that's all my tickets. That should have left me with 80 tickets. Not to mention the other 30 that magically disappeared. If you cant do basic math (with a calculator in your face) find another job. This disabled veteran is done with chuck e cheese's forever. I will only take my children to Going Bonkers. I will make sure to get the word out to all my family, friends and fellow veterans not to ever go to any...
Read moreToday, I went to Chuckie Cheese off 635 & Centerville. Let's talk about customer service at this location. Done, right, horrible. The lady named Marcelina needs more training on how to speak with people. Let's talk about the pizza & salad bar. The peperoni pizza was dry, dull, and looked like it was old, but it was hot. I also need to address your Mgr Ricardo. I spoke with him and another young lady about this stuffed sausage pizza I ordered. In other establishments, when you tell them your children don't like the sausage stuffed pizza, can they replace it with peperoni, and Ricardo says you ate it. The children had one slice of the pizza and said YUCK we don't like it." Literally, one slice was missing. I told him how would we know they didn't like it if you didn't taste it. Now, the 11.49 for a sorry salad bar with only the basic ingredients was Ridiculous at best. You might say unlimited, still not worth it. Needless to say, a horrible day at this Chuckie Cheese. And I still have to go get something else to eat for the kids. Once you spend 23.00 for a pizza and don't eat but one slice you have a different type of attitude. Chuckie Cheese you need to upgrade your food if you plan on having...
