After being unable to watch today's sermon via the Savannah Christian web page, I came across the Google review section for the church. I was curious to read over them ans see what the locals had to say about it. You can literally FEEL the impact this church has on others just by reading their reviews. A few bad ones, but after reading why they gave such a low rating, you see it was selfish wants they did not receive within minutes that led to their bad review. I have been a part of Savannah Christian for almost 4 years now. I, too, was quite hesitant of such a big church when I first attended. I come from a much smaller church upbringing, and my first visit was overwhelming to say the least. BUT, everyone I came in contact with was so pleasant and graceful. I did not feel any judgement despite not wearing "Sunday's best". I was welcomed with open arms, warm smiles, and phenomenal worship music. Now, the overwhelming sensation still exists, but it a great way. Because it is quite overwhelming to see how God works through the ministry of Savannah Christian Church. They continue to grow tremendously as they reach the hearts of so many around the globe. I LOVE JESUS, AND I LOVE MY CHURCH! Jesus' love definitely shines through this church and its family! Come be a part of an incredible...
Read moreI never write reviews, but the public needs to know about this. I am a soldier at FT Stewart, I went there asking if they had any donated gas cards so I can get my kids home for the summer. That is all I asked for, nothing more. I was asked to come in. Costs probably 10 in gas getting there. The place looked like a Macy's department store, was told to wait. Then after not getting to see the pastor, was told that things were extremely gloomy there and that I made to much money and was asked if I needed a financial course. Thank you for degrading me and I doubt your billion dollar church would have hurt giving me a gas card, but it looks like charity is not on the agenda. Had this been a real church, I would have seen a pastor and talked about the situation. A small church down the road, that looks way less fancy. Gave me some gas cards, talked to me for awhile, made me feel great and the pastor spent part of his busy day making me feel better about my situation. Oh yeah the big church told me when people come in asking for help the refer them to lighthouse...what is all that money going for, are they helping anyone? or are they just...
Read moreWe moved to Savannah Tuesday, July the 3rd and desired to find a church home immediately. My daughter and I ventured out that Sunday and came to Compassion Church first. The greeters were kind, the children's church volunteers were helpful and the service was fine. However when it came to leaving early and arriving at the upstairs children's area to remove my child, I was unable to. I was told by the same woman who checked us in, that I would be unable to get my child until she moved into another room. I asked her kindly because it was extremely important that we leave early, yet there was NO compassion at all, the leader clearly didn't care or even ask why I needed to remove her. The leader stood there and simply talked with other church volunteers. Yes, I understand security however when your the person who checked us in, I would think there Could be some kind of procedure set in place so individuals (especially new people) can get their children out early if needed. I waited in line and literally began to cry out of frustration. This move has been extremely difficult on us....this Sunday morning was our...
