Great store with great service! We proudly do as much shopping at Hood's as we can, they have a wonderful selection of just about anything! Their gift section is one of a kind with many items to choose from. The help that we receive at this location is above all others, they go above and beyond to make sure their customers are happy! My husband and I were in last week looking for Christmas lights, they were unfortunately out of the ones we wanted at the time but Amy exceeded our expectations by ordering what we wanted and having them delivered right to the store in a timely manner. Amy even went out of her way to contact me to let me know what was going on with the shipping times, something she did not have to do. We will continue to support this local gem and their wonderful owners! I recently moved here from Chicago and I LOVE Hood's Ace Hardware in Gibson City. It is an excellent hardware store and SO much more. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the people who work there are friendly and helpful. In addition to everything you might need from a hardware store, they have a lovely selection of kitchen items, home decor, gift items and so much more than just hardware. Since Hoods left this location, The shopping experience has got worse and worse. Twice now I have been at this store and staff simply walks by without offering any help. Today I spent an hour looking for things while staff simply leant on the cash desk talking without offering any assistance at all. I even struggled out the door with lumber as staff looked on without even asking if they could get the door. I've started using Nussbaum Ace at Fairbury now more and more as the staff help and attention...
