Update is response to owner: If you cared about me experience, I'd expect you'd actually reach out to me. The fact that your pharmacist thought it was just appropriate to not refill a medication, and not say anything to the customer, is shocking. I have actually also reached out to the the owner about a different issue previously and never got a response.
As I said, I am very much an advocate for supporting small local businesses. However, I can't risk not getting the medications I need timely, or not having good communication with those providers.
Original review: We have been going to the Purdy Costless Pharmacy since moving to the area, and as a family we aim to always support and promote small, locally owned businesses.
Unfortunately, the response & behavior from the pharmacist himself has made the decision for us that we have to find new pharmacy. My husband and I both started a prescription earlier this year, which we've gotten filled a number of times without incident. Unfortunately, this last time, when I opened the prescriptions at home, I realized one prescription was missing. I called the pharmacy and was placed on hold for at least 10 minutes before the pharmacist joined the call and stated that they were losing $30 refilling our prescriptions, so they decided to not fill it anymore (but never thought to say anything to us).
This wasn't mentioned a single time in the months we've gotten our prescription filled. It wasn't mentioned when my husband picked up our other prescriptions that day (and the refills were all sent together). Instead they waited until the patient realized and called. We were flying out the next morning, and this isn't the type of medication you can just miss for a few days.
Had this been handled differently, had there been any acknowledgment or apology, we likely would have figured out how to get that one filled elsewhere and keep our others at Purdy. Instead we were treated in a way that left us feeling uncared for as a patient.
On the plus side, I already have a speciality drug delivered through a mail order pharmacy. I've always been nervous about mail order pharmacies, but it's been a great experience. Purdy Costless Pharmacy gave us a reason to move our other...
Read moreThe best pharmacy experience you will ever have. Is at the Purdy Costless pharmacy. I've used Walgreens in the past, Rite Aid, and target, just to name a few, and this is a completely different experience with an all friendly and helpful staff. One of the many perks is a very minimal wating time. The waiting time is about as long as it takes you to enjoy treats they often have out that are freshly made in store. Also for those who have back, knee, hip or arthritis pain they have comfortable chairs to sit in as you wait to help take further stress off your body. It's family owned, and the integrity ant the compassion of the people there absolutely reflects that in way they interact with their customers.Unlike other pharmacies, they won't tell you, that you need to contact your doctor to do this or to get a refill or renew a prescription, they will kindly let you know that they will be reaching out to your doctor on your behalf which takes the stres of yourself If you are transferring pharmacies to Costless Pharmacy in Purdy which I strongly suggest, the Pharmacist on duty will be more than happy to assist you with any questions...
Read moreI used to get pretty much all of my prescriptions at this place because it was so convenient and was on my route to and from my doctor's office. It was also the preferred pharmacy of my doctor because of its location, but also because they had a professional relationship between them and knew each other quite well.
However, it is my understanding that Costless Pharmacy recently changed its policies and they no longer accept Molina Insurance. I would guess that about 75% of my doctor's patients have Molina so this change was probably a big impact and inconvenience to both him and his patients.
Until or If I hear differently, I will delete or change this review, but as long as they decide to no longer accept Molina, they are just an...
