I was admitted on 12/29/22 to 01/05/23 for Acute Exacerbation of Asthma. I am not one to go to the hospital unless I am left with no other choice. The Nurses on the 2nd floor were solid professionals, confident, & caring. Knowing the RN caring for me has all the medical facts about me made me keep from having anxiety about my medicines & treatments. The nurses were compassionate. The PCTâs were on incredible. . They made sure to assist me with politeness & modesty. I had to use a bedside commode & my concern was for my own modesty. The PCTâs took extra time to ensure I was always covered & never exposed. Such a relief. I was greeted each time with a smile. Occupational Therapy was in my room every morning assisting me & giving me tips on how to get my physical strength back. It was done on a personal level & I felt like I was truly cared about. I felt motivated. Physical Therapy was in my room every morning. They greeted me with smiles, enthusiasm, & reassurance. It felt like every success I had was a success for them, also Respiratory Therapy was in & out of my room several times a day. Each time, I was greeted with smiles & confidence. The Lab professionals were quick & polite. IV Therapy had to deal with me because my veins are not easy to find. This causes me great anxiety but the professionals were on the job & they got the MedLine in & I felt relieved. Dietary is amazing. Iâm a Diabetic & the food choices were fantastic & it actually was good. They were friendly & polite over the phone. I could feel her smiling on the other end of the conversation. Housekeeping! Polite. They asked me if it was a good time to clean my room each day they came in. Smiles, and thank youâs each time they left. They were quick but very thorough. The day I was admitted there was a person who came in & was asking me if I lived alone or had help if I needed it. I think she was a Social Worker but I was so sick at the time I canât recall. At the time, I thought to myself they must want me to get out of here as soon as possible. But the real truth is simply this : FROM START TO FINISH THIS WAS A VERY COHESIVE TEAM DOING EVERYTHING IN THEIR POWER TO GET ME WELL & BACK HOME ASAP. Thank you Wvu Hospital / Reynolds for giving me the very best of the...
Read moreOkay, so Iâm not usually one to leave reviews but I seriously have to gush about Reynolds Memorial Hospital. This past Friday, Kael finally got tubes put in after battling a double ear infection since October. We kept getting turned away because he was "too little". But then Kara pointed me to Dr. Hinerman, and I knew I could trust him the moment I saw him. He was so kind and upbeat and immediately said, âWe can do this.â I couldâve cried on the spot.
Fast forward just a few days laterâKael and I made our way to Reynolds (my second time ever being there) and I was completely lost. A maintenance man literally put down his mop and walked me to where I needed to be.
Then we met our nurse, Alissa, and she was a total rockstar. She saw me holding Kael and instantly grabbed a warm blanket for him, made an extra wristband just to keep him entertained, picked up his binky about a dozen times, and basically loved on him like he was her own.
At one point I saw this guy wheeling kids around, making racecar noises and taking corners like he was in Mario Kartâand the kids were cracking up. Turns out, that was the anesthetist, Chris. That same guy was the one who took Kael back, cuddled him, and was just the sweetest human. And then there was Casey, who teamed up with Chris and had the most contagious smile. I shouldâve been anxious, but somehowâI wasnât. Not even a little. Thatâs how good they were.
When the procedure was over, I came back to find a nurse rocking Kaelen in a chair, comforting him like he was hers. Another nurse even popped the lid off his bottle when she saw I was juggling too much. We arrived at 6:30 AM, and were done and headed home by 8:00.
Honestly, Iâve never had an experience like this at a hospital. Ever. And Iâm forever grateful to the entire team at Reynolds for taking such amazing care of my baby boy. Thank you, thank you,...
Read moreWas 13 minutes late for my appointment with Dr.. Lawerance in her office .I called in at 9;55 to tell them I was just leaving Wheeling and I was on my way, I was told to hold on. Three minutes later I was told there NEW policy was if you ten minutes late you would have to reschedule. There previous policy was 15 minutes So I arrive at 10;13. and the women at the desk told me to wait, then proceded to ask me if i was a little annoyed, and I stated yes a little bit, She then proceded to ask me do I let people come in to my restaurant 10 minutes late, my jay dropped!! My reply to her was that My business had nothing to do with health care, that at doctors office, Rude in her poor judgement. I said 'I am not leaving . at that her next comment was well get comfy for awhile in a tone that was defiant to the point that she meant i would be waiting a long time intentionally on her behalf.and just because she think she can deny a patient health car for being 3 minutes late, I urge anyone going to this office to find another office to supply your health issues. They claim they have too many patients, and not enough time to take the proper care of them. But if your only 10 minutes late they let you stay to see the doctor, but not before having to sit in there dirty waiting room 30-45 minutes. Do not go to this hospital group, they are greedy for the insurance money from hard working locals, STAY AWAY AT...
