Ararat Market AM — Local services in Glendale

Went here for the first time since they switched owners and had a horrible experience. The owner let my wife and I try the pistachios they sell and they tasted good. We decide to buy the $20 package of pistachios they sell and after trying them at home, they were completely rancid, bitter and expired. They tasted nothing like the ones behind the counter he had us try. I tried to return them to the store for a refund and the owner refused to give a refund claiming Covid wouldn't allow him. (classic excuse to not be held accountable) I then asked if I can at least exchange them for a new container and he refused again, saying they all come from the same box and nothing is wrong with them. He was very rude and unprofessional. We only took 5 pistachios out of the box of hundreds, it's not as if we're trying to get over on him by returning a half empty box.

For people considering shopping here, I suggest you stick with the large grocery stores like ralphs or on Amazon where you can actually get customer service and be compensated when wronged. Not to mention they are much cheaper then this overpriced place. I wanted to give this local store a shot but now I'm out $20 and am stuck with a package of expired...

This is my GO TO spot! I always work the weekends in the Chevy Chase area and this place is ALWAYS my #1 choice to grab something scrumptious & tasty for lunch. Ive met the husband and wife of the establishment they are always so polite and welcoming every time i visit. The ALL MEAT salami and pastrami sandwich from this location is so 🔥🔥🔥🔥.

Todays purchase were some chocolate covered almond.
