Two Guys From Italy is a classic family-feel Italian restaurant tucked away in Glendale. An expansive menu makes it a good option for large groups, and the food, while not being the best Italian we've ever had, was satisfying - a little more than that: it was what we expected from a mom-and-pop place like this. And the garlic bread with the tomatoes was fingerlickin good - and sure helped to make me rate four stars.
And MASSIVE portions as well. I got the Chicken Florentina, which was a huge dish of chicken in a tasty and tangy sauce (minus the capers, which I skipped), along with a whole "side" of pasta that could've easily been an entree in and of itself.
My wife loved her broccoli fettucini - and took home half, as it was simply too much. Our friends had a small pizza (which still was too much for him) and the other had a meat ball pasta he could not finish. Will say: try and share dishes here!
Service was good, but - and that is a severe but - we received the wrong check. OK, mistakes happen. Then we got the correct check - being charged $5.99 for my side salad - the menu said "add a side salad for $1.50. I paid for it - not nice, but far from being a disaster, especially as the salad was not only very good but also a very generous portion.
All in all, I'd definitely return, especially if it was with a large group as they have something for everyone with incredibly fair prices for the portion sizes.
As other reviewers mention it: this place has a "B" grade by the health department. To me, the place looked fine. It's not a posh place but has a very authentic feel and sure easily matches any similar restaurant that I have ever been to on my many travels to Italy. If you'd rather have the ambience and service of "The Ritz" - well, then go to the Ritz ;-)
Moment of truth - would I go again: definitely yes. Did they exceed my expectations: not with the food itself, which was exactly what I thought I would get, but with the huge portions and the (free) bread. Would I drive a 30+ min detour to go (my five stars mandatory): unlikely. But I would always go with a large group and would order a family-style feast there - ordering five starters and five entrees for a group of then. Only then you may have room...
Read moreyesterday I ordered a takeout of one of my favorites.
when it arrived the price was wrong. I told the delivery guy that the change from the $17
i gave him should be the difference between the correct price,$14.78 and the $17$ I gave him.
he called the restaurant and i agreed to return the small salad which has always been free. the result was three nasty calls saying that chicken cacciatore customers have to pay for salad.
i iconsulted the menu below and can't see any sign of a change in price crom the $14.85
Here is the menu

Read moreThis was hands down the worst experience I have ever had getting food. I was really contemplating leaving this review but felt it was warranted for not only the customer experience but the staff who may not feel comfortable to speak up about the behavior of management. I ordered my food and mistakenly did not put the accurate time of my arrival. Which was 45 minutes late coming from Long beach in the early evening. I called to inform them I was going to be late and they informed me it was in the process of being made and it would be sitting for some time. Fine, I accepted that because those were my choices. That’s okay. I finally get there and they can’t find my orders. I was expecting customer service to squash the issue by being over apologetic, acknowledging the system issue and reassuring me that they would take care of me. Instead, the owner multiple times in multiple ways stated he didn’t have my order and even forced me to verify by looking at his tablet. I showed him my confirmation through email of my order and announced a rep on the phone confirmed the order. He took photos of my confirmation and got angry. Then yelled at all his staff in the kitchen. Of course, I was mad. I was hangry looking for someone to take ownership and remedy the situation fast. Not for the rampaging owner to scold his entire staff. No wonder why these mistakes are made. Teach them, don’t belittle and project your anger onto them. He quoted me 10 minutes and food would be done.. I waited 30 minutes in the restaurant. This experience was awful. It’s one thing to have a system glitch but another to have a horrible manager. And no, being italian does not give you an excuse to disrespect and mistreat people. Will never come back. Food...
