Glenmont Shopping Center — Local services in Glenmont

I have stopped into Glenmont Shopping Center on several occasions. I have mostly just run into the CVS store to use one of my extra care coupons or extra care bucks. That's what I did today. This CVS location has a lot services including a vaccination center (for COVID-19 booster), pharmacy and a minute clinic in the rear of the store. The employees were friendly & helpful. The other store that I have been into here was Staples. It was about 2 months ago for a gift card contracted work related project. The employees here were friendly & helpful to me & the other customers I saw coming into the store. I also like that right across the street is a Shell station that usually has decent prices. Rundown strip mall serving a working class neighborhood north of Wheaton. Has all the essentials - grocery store, bank, pharmacy, a few restaurants - along with a dollar store, beer and wine store, check cashing place, and a few assorted businesses including a Staples.

Crumbling infrastructure. Parking lot poorly lit at night and in need of repaving. Has lost several long-term residents lately. Badly in need of a major renovation, but the owners either don't want to put in the money or simply can't figure out what they want to do with it, depending on which of the local legends you believe.

Have been followed to my car by sketchy people and almost got run over. So I avoid this place in the evenings or at night. Some of the restaurants here are actually pretty good. But the shopping center in general is just falling appart and looks neglected.

No security. Poor lighting at night with some police presence almost every night.

Great cheap food places to visit here and an outstanding Barber shop we've only visited once. When we tried to visit a second time we saw the guy that had previously followed us to our car at night just hanging around the entrance and looking high. So you know, PTSD kicked in and we left.
