Historic Opera Theater — Local services in Glenns Ferry

What a lovely venue! We enjoyed a Sherlock Holmes theater night with dinner included. Steak was excellent and food reflects top notch catering skill. Rolls from The Lobby bakery next door are to die for! Staff are warm and friendly, especially Dorothy who remembered us from a previous visit. The concession has a nice assortment of treats and prices are a steal. Show was fun and well-performed by a great group of actors. Their energy with each other adds to the experience. We paid for balcony seats but could not understand the actors speaking. Everyone moved to the lower area during intermission; it was a small improvement. Four actors we still could not understand. Sooo, we could not make out the initial proposal of plot, the conclusion of said plot, & had a lot of trouble putting it together. Actually, we weren't able to put story together; all 4 of us. Loved the theater, the play & the actors! All of the people working here are nice & welcoming. Snack bar prices are reasonable but the popcorn was over done and dry. The vents in the balcony area were freezing and several people moved during intermission. It was very difficult to understand the actors who spoke loudly or excitedly; most of it was incomprehensible to me. The more they spoke in a regular tone, the clearer the sound was.
