Brown & Hopkins Country Store — Local services in Glocester

I have been a lifelong customer of Brown and Hopkins, and Cindy (the new owner) has done a wonderful job of gracefully taking the shop under her wing. With any transition of ownership, there are some bumps in the road. She has handled each with grace, professionalism, and genuine care for the shop and its customers. She has listened to our hopes for the new chapter of Brown and Hopkins and has said that she looks forward to plans of bringing back some of our favorites such as penny candy and continuing traditions such as the beautiful seasonal displays. She has opened up the floor plan on the main floor to accommodate customers who use wheelchairs or have other mobility concerns. I pushed a chair through on Saturday, and can say it was a breeze! The main floor leans more towards a “market” with soups, dips, drinks, treats (the fudge was silky and Nutella-y), drink mixes, and to-die-for coffee to name a few! I had my eye on some of the jewelry, too. The main floor still houses some of my old favorites such as the candles and smaller decor. I didn’t get a chance to go upstairs this trip, but I hear that there are more home decorations up there, which I look forward to checking out in my next trip in for some fall decor that we’re all on the edge of our seat for! I also hear there are plans to expand the children’s area upstairs, which I look forward to seeing! I couldn’t be happier for this new phase of one of my favorite places. Brown & Hopkins is a destination and well worth the trip no matter where you are coming from. The store is AMAZING, absolutely beautiful and is filled from the floor up with unique gifts for everyone. There is so much to see, the store is literally filled with (affordable) treasures. And they always seem to get new items in so there's always something new to see.

If you can't get to the store, the online store has so much to offer and if you don't see what you are looking for, you can call or message them and they will help in a matter of minutes. The staff is wonderful and very attentive and also appreciative. I placed an order on a Saturday and my items arrived nicely wrapped and packaged on Tuesday. It was so easy and it was fun. (maybe a little dangerous for my wallet, as I want to buy everything).

Their weekly Facebook Live tours are cute and worth watching to see what's new or on sale. Especially now with the Holidays, it's a great way to preview the items before going to the store on shopping on line.

Wonderful country store. Staff is very welcoming and friendly. Lots of home decor stuff that is unique and lovely wish I could buy it all. Loved there Christmas selection and the way its so carefully displayed to appeal to all. The candy is bountiful and yummy got some brownie bites very yummy must try it just soooo... very good. Jewelry is beautiful got a pair of earrings as a gift. Love them silver forest was there brand so unique and beautiful had to adore them right away of course. If you like to bake they have some cake mixes you can buy the chocolate tort cake mix caught my eye.
