I try to never leave a bad review anywhere because I feel like such a bad person for complaining about stuff, but after crying every time I see a mirror since my visit here, I feel compelled to. Despite the advertising and the appt I made, I did NOT receive a Deva Cut. Not even close. I’ve been getting them for years from a Level 3 until the pandemic closed her salon, and Velda even said she doesn’t do “Deva Cuts” as she was cutting my hair. She pulls the hair completely straight, just like when I used to get blowouts a decade ago and I should have left then but once you’re in the chair you just keep hoping it will work out, the good reviews give you hope for the finished look. The standard straight style hair cut left my 2C-3B waves and curls so incredibly uneven and raggedy, very noticeably so since my hair was nearly to my waist. I had to get another several inches cut off at another salon to even it out and I still have a weird shelf to my hair that’s been blended as well as can be without cutting another few inches. She couldn’t match my hair color at all, despite being there for over five hours, using swatches, etc, which left me with mismatched, blotchy color on my head which required an expensive salon visit to “fix” AND a chemical burn from being under the dryer, which left my hair falling out in chunks. She was very nice during my visit, truly was, which is why I genuinely feel bad complaining, she even called a few days later and told me I could drive back up there for a cash refund because I was literally in tears when I left and we agreed I’d try washing and styling it on my own to see how it looked, but I could never in good conscience recommend this salon to anyone. Super nice folks, but the worst hair cut I’ve had in longer than I remember and the worst color I’ve ever had since my one and only time using box dye as a teenager. My scalp feeling like it was on fire that night and my hair coming out as I ran my fingers through it was, to put it mildly, an unpleasant experience. It was so bad that my partner was visibly upset when he saw it and when my scalp started burning that night he found a place to look me over and treat it. Probably just a bad day for the stylist but an absolutely terrible experience for me. My scalp isn’t red and irritated anymore and the hair will grow back, just upsetting to lose so many inches when I was not expecting it and to pay so much...

Dennis and Vickie both use this shop. Customers 25 years. Terri is our hair stylist and has done fabulous jobs with coloring, cuts and curls. She is a stylist for Deva (curly hair specialist) as well as a master cutter. We love her and have been so pleased with her caring personality and exceptionalism in her profession. From my observations this shop has a stylist for just about everyone. They all are so talented and caring....
