ONE STAR for menards. This 5 star review is not menrads but for a individual. NORMAN IN LUMBER YARD.I'm handicapped. I require use of handicap sticker. Service dog. Different aids here and there. Due to circumstances in my life. I suffer with very bad arthritis. Heart failure. Seizures due to anxiety linked to fear from social anxiety. Combat ptsd. asthma .I try my hardest to live like everyone else. Be normal. Mainly I can using aids like my service dog. He is my first line of life support out in the world. I also rely on the genoristy of people's help here and there. Menards this location specific has always treated me really nice. Helped me. There is a little gal who's a front desk manager knows me and my service dog decently. We are in there alot. Long short. I asked if I ordered some heavier bulkier things if I could get some help. I was assured at back service counter. Again at register. Asked security gayrd. He said also yes and told me to wait and someone would help me. Just park and get out and someone would come to me. I did that. No one came. I tryed and tryed to load sheets of osb. My service dog warning me by my trailer. I just didn't wanna set there in no one else's way and no one came to help me. A forklift guy stopped while I was trying to load 3rd sheet. Asked me if I needed help. I said yes. Please help me my chest is hurting I'm short of breath. He looked at my ticket. I told him my dilemma. My disability. Told him I asked multplie times for help and everyone said I could get some. No one came. I said security guy said he radioed for you guys to maybe help me. He said. No one's said anything on the radio. We all have them on and turned up I'd have heard it. Just as he was starting to help me.Someone radioed him. Asking for him. I almost lost it. I thought what luck. But instead. He radioed them back. I need to help a customer I'm unavailable. He did to. Stack of osb. Lumber. Pallet of insulation. We spent good 35 mins loading stuff in trailer. Well he did not me. He told me to relax he got it. I asked another guy in there. Did you hear anything on radio about someone helping me. He said nope. Nothing like that I'd have responded. Any of us would have responded. Norman helped me. Even though he had alot going on. He helped me. And that likely saved me. Next morning i had a seizure and spent last 2 days in hospital. When I was leaving menards that day. I asked the security guy. Why didn't you radio help for me. He said he is pretty sure he did. I said we'll. Did any one respond. He had no answer. I said I've used a radio before. Since when do you just say some stuff over a radio and not wait for a reply. Do you not care. You offered to help me. And then I asked you for it in reply kindly. You giving me your word to not care or follow through kinda screwed me up. I waited and waited. He was nervous. He just kept trying to explain the same thing different words. He didn't radio no one. The look on his face and his immediate nervousness said that when i told him. Im disabled. Dont tell me youll help and flake out. Keep your word. The biggest reason i am disabled. Because i made a commitment to my brothers and sisters and stood by my word when it got tough i fought till i fell and kept trying. Menards. You hire those guys setting on buckets playing on there phones to set out there and not care. We'll. It effects people.thanks to Norman. Your lumber yard employee I am OK. He also by the way volunteers his time when not there helping veterans. Takeavetfishing.com. Norman makes this review 5 stars. I wanted to give one star for being let down then and literally faced the guy and lied to my face and cared more about his excuses to apologize to me just stayed explaining how he did all in his powers he could and didn't do anything. One star. But I refuse to put a one star on any review with Norman's name because he is a 5 star man. I shop there REGULARLY. 2 to 3 times a week I'm making orders. Ask the little front desk manager. Guy with service dog. She'll rember. Her and Norman....
Read moreI bought an end of the season snowblower from this Menards on April 4, 2022 but never received a copy of the warranty. On February 24th, 2023 my snowblower stopped working. On February 26, 2023, I was blessed with 12 inches of snow which I shoveled by hand for 3 + hours on February 27. I called the Department manager on Feb 28 asking about the warranty. Sara said it was covered by the warranty even though she could not find a copy of the warrnety at the store. She emailed me a copy of all the repair places in the Twin Cities area that repair snowblowers with the actual updated list being updated that day - February 28,2023 ! The first store on the list I called NO LONGER FIXED SNOWBLOWERS ! I eventually took the snowblower into another store on the list on March 9 which fixed it on March 10. Total cost of the repair was $42.84. On March 10th, I paid for the repair and took the receipt into this Menards store hoping I could get reimbursed. At the store Chad Stewart the general manager of this MENARDS told me without my knowing the name and model of the snowblower he could not help me EVEN THOUGH I HAD BROUGHT IN THE RECIEPT FROM APRIL 4, 2022. Plus because I had not taken the snowblower to a repair shop that did warranty work , I would " have to eat the cost of the repair" !!!!! On the list Sara emailed me on February 28, which was not accurate, there was not listed which repair stores did warranty work on which models. Simple it was an inaccurate list of repair stores with their telephone numbers. How was I to know I supposed to call all these repair places and find out whom did repair work on my model of snowblower !? Sara had not told me that . AND THE RUDENESS AND ANGER IN CHAD STEWARTS VOICE WAS TOTALLY INAPPROPRIATE. Because of this poor service help and rudeness is why I give this Menards a 1 on the Google rating system. May 4,2023 Additional information. SO MENARDS POSTS THEIR USUAL REBUTTAL TO THIS POST ASKING ME TO CONTACT THE STORE MANAGER !!!!!!! IT IS SO OBVIOUS MENARSD NEVERS READS THESE AS IT IS THE GENERAL MANAGER I AM COMPLAINING ABOUT AND HIS WAY OF TREATING ME. ALSO IF YOU READ SOME OF THE OTHER REBUTTALS MENARDS POST TO POOR , IT IS A STANDARD IDENTICAL RESPONSE . THEIR REBUTTAL MEANS THEY TRULY DONT READ THESE. ( June 16,2023. ) I received a letter from their HR saying they would not refund my snowblower repair WITH NO MENTION OR APOLOGY ABOUT THE RUDE BEHAVIOR OR THIS STORES...
Read moreI love Menards and shop there often. However, there's never help when you need it. Generally, due to this it can be hours spent in the store trying to find what you need. If I find someone to ask where something is the response almost always is go over "there and then there, then on that side". Not helpful at all. Generally, in most departments you have to wait to even ask a question because there's others waiting for help. The shelves are usually empty in the dry foods area and prices have gone significantly higher since last month when I was there. For example .20 more per bottle of Sobe water. I used to look forward to finding some great deals here. After 2hrs in the store yesterday for just a few items I was shocked at my $400+ bill. Considering the most expensive item I bought was a $30 tool belt for my son. I sadly can't shop here alone anymore. The set up with two floors, lack of help in departments make it impossible for me anymore to take on this store due to a disability I have that keeps me from spending hours on my feet. As you know even after you have everything on your list, it's not over. Another 20min later to check out and bag everything yourself...you still have to get it to and into your vehicle and then into the house. The lighting dept is the worst. If you want lights, basic bulbs, forget it. IF you can even find them it's extremely unorganized and frustrating to try and find the kind or wattage you need. Idk what has happened to this store, but there definitely needs to be changes. Oh, and the rebate area is a mess as well. Even if someone is behind the counter, they're not helpful. YOU have to search through hundreds of small print forms in order to find the one(s) you need. Again, another 10 minutes easy. Menards, PLEASE have your cashier's hand the ones to the customer that they need, have someone assisting the customer bagging and loading their items. This is no longer a man's store..your customers include women, people of all ages, knowledge, abilities or lack thereof. Please, get more help, offer more assistance, have larger carts available, stock your shelves more, organize the shelves and make it somehow more clear where to find things. Whether it be better signs, maps or more detailed isle descriptions. Your prices have gone up, and help has decreased. Very unssatisfied and disappointed in Menards now. At least the...
