Pharmacy Experience Just submitted this letter through the Walgreens customer service portal about the pharmacist Lily Zelixon who works at this location.
Good day, I am writing this note to file a complaint with service my son and I received attempting to fill a prescription. My son, 20, recently visited Urgent Care for a bacterial infection in his tonsils. When he attempted to fill the prescription at our local Walgreens, the pharmacist treated him rudely and due to her ineptitude with updating insurance information, she sent him away without filing. I called the pharmacy and I was all treated rudely on the phone and given the discomfort my son was in, I was ready to pay out of pocket for the cost and resolve the insurance information later. An option she did not present to him for resolution and it was not something my 20 year old would have known to ask. As we live less than 5 minutes from the store, I drove up and met my son who was waiting for me in the car.
When I went to the pharmacy with my son, Ms. Zelixon apparently had solved her error and continued her rude treatment when we were both at the window. I did not at all thank her for resolving as it was her issue to solve. My son has had coverage for prescriptions under my medical insurance which recently switched. My son presented both cards to the pharmacist and apparently, she did not posses the intelligence about your processes to correct. Needless to say, the insurance was updated and we collected the prescription.
Prior to my departure from the store, I calmly asked for the store manager and reported the complaint in person. I cited: lack of professionalism, rude treatment of my son and I, and lack of knowledge in addressing insurance updates. My son and I are both black, and I feel somewhat that her mistreatment may have been related. Had I not gone up to the store physically, I feel my son would have been turned away from treatment. As a loyal customer of both the store and pharmacy I am upset by the treatment, lack of apology, and inconvenience to solve an issue on her end. Additionally, as I am able to advocate for my son I cannot help but think of the number of customers where she has treated the same and they did not have the voice to advocate.
I would appreciate a response in this matter.
Thank you!

Read moreWalgreen's is A#1 for price, quality, selection, and friendly staff! My wife and I have been coming to this store since it opened. We love the pharmacy drive-thru option ( saves us alot of time), also I realize with inflation the way it is, everyone has to raise their prices! At least Walgreen's, seems to be able to keep it from being ridiculously more than a year ago even on the name brand items. Yes, we will keep coming back to this store, always a good experience, extremely friendly staff, knowledgeable pharmacists, close to where we live, and still lower prices than any of the competitors in this area! Thank you Walgreen's in Golden Valley! P.S.: A shoutout to Elvie, in the Pharmacy department! Elvie, is such a nice person, patient, helpful, goes the extra mile to make you feel appreciated as a customer each and every time I come into...
Read moreI called to ask about my prescription for my ventolin inhaler, because I was having troubles breathing and needed it right away, the technician told me it would be an hour. Pharmacy technician was extremely rude. Raised her voice and hung up the phone in my face when I was asking if they could complete just that one sooner and I would wait for the rest of them. I ended up going inside the store to speak with her, but instead I spoke with the manager. I overheard her rudely telling customers, it's going to be a long long wait and that they should return tomorrow when they were asking how long for their prescription. This behavior is unprofessional an unacceptable. Some people are sick coming to get medication, and you're talking to them in this manner, which is not...
