Madecraft — Local services in Goleta

Working with Madecraft was a fabulous experience. I have now created two courses with the Madecraft team and in both instances, they have eased my anxiety in creating a new course. This was done through close collaboration with their fantastic team.

With my most recent course, I was initially connected to Hayley Doyle who helped me create an outline for my course. Although I was the Subject-Matter-Expert, it was great to get perspective and feedback as to the flow of my course from someone who has helped so many others with this same process.

I then got introduced to Craig Harshman who I worked closely with over the span of a few months to draft all my course content. Craig provided great guidance on how an ideal script should be compiled. He even went above and beyond suggesting specific edits to make my scripts/lessons sound more conversational. I was traveling during the week of filming so had trouble making last minute changes but Craig helped immensely here to ensure my course would still film and flow greatly. Working with Craig showed me the great level of professionality and support all of Madecraft’s Learning Content Producers have.

I closed out the experience by filming with Sanford Jackson who came with a plethora of video directing experience and guiding me through the filming process. We were able to fly by the filming process creating about 20 lessons over the span of just a few hours.

I had an amazing time filming two courses with Madecraft. Their process was smooth from designing to recording. Getting to the studio was hassle-free. I felt like a celebrity on site, with my name displayed on the studio door. Experiencing hair and makeup and using a teleprompter was new for me, but they made it fun and easy.

I've created educational videos before, so I know the challenges. Yet, with Madecraft's dedicated team, it felt rewarding. They truly aimed for the best quality.

First off, I want to celebrate everyone who has had a great experience with Madecraft. I did too in the beginning.

I had an amazing experience being enrolled to create a course with them, work on the course with amazing creative partners and editors.

But quite lackluster with the overall follow-up.

We took the time to create a great course together and totally understand that all courses may not be sold or purchased by learning partners, but the radio silence around the clarity of what’s actually going on after a few years now is the disheartening part.
