H. Souder & Son's General Store — Local services in Grabill

H. Souders Store & Sons is one of the neatest stores my wife and I have ever been to. Definitely worth the visit! But I will say the store is part of a complex of a few other really neat businesses and I believe you can't just visit the store and truly get the full experience. The whole complex is very nice and is a hidden gem. I've been all over the country and I've never seen anything quite like this. But since the different parts of the complex are actually separate businesses, this review is just for the store. The store is an old general store that has been kept up with. The store is clean, well-managed and maintained. There are a great variety of gifts, primitives, home decorations, candy, coffee, tea, candles, homegoods, and other handmade and homemade goods. The staff have always been incredibly friendly, welcoming, professional, and helpful. I absolutely love this place!!! My great grandparents took me here when I was a kid, and it's almost been 30 years since I've been here. It has changed very little, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and it still has the old candy shop charm. I'm a huge old root beer fan, and they have a phenomenal collection. If you are near here, it is worth the small detour to take the kids or just to make you feel like a kid again. This shop has a little bit of everything for everyone. (Okay...a LOT of candy) You certainly can't go wrong with a pound of Saltwater Taffy! The retro toys are great! My granddaughters love the Jacobs Ladder that I bought there a couple of years ago. The people are always friendly, and the place has a warm cozy feel to it. (It must be in all that wood). PS.
