My worst fear is that somebody would come in and try to redo this place in the future!!!!no!!!this place is an antique if you’re going to redo it, redo it the way that it is now!!! People will enjoy that much more in the future experiencing life in the early days of cinema !!!!
If I was shooting a movie from the perspective of the 1920,s I would have all of downtown Graham blocked off as well as the side streets !!! and make things to the camera look like it’s the 1920s or early teens !!!first off !!, all of graham is movie set waiting to happen… Any way the theater!!! its like that movie from 1994Clerks!!!they dont wana b there!!!!! This place is the real deal matinees at 12 AM for Rocky horror picture show !! And this is probably one of the best places I have ever seen it at!but!I’m not gonna say that they’re the best staffed he!! No!! But again !!! People don’t do this kind of stuff unless on holidays !!! They’re too busy watching Netflix at home !!!eventually, this place will become a tourist attraction if it can hang on long enough for ,Graham itself will become a tourist attraction. !!!When I get to see a second balcony and I’ve never seen one in my entire life… This is a Nostalgia fever for somebody who wants to experience what the movie watching experience was like on a big screen in the 1930s/ 60s. It’s absolutely amazing. Sure it smells old, but who cares when you watch the movie((aviator)).(((and you think about how much effort he went through making his movie))$.,, And you see the immense effort that went into making those movies, And then you think about all those people that have driven miles to get to see this ((in this theater)). This is the kind of place, That America would be watching those reels in!!!and This place is also a good location for shooting!!!due to the Fact that it’s still operational Also :: love the (( Spots in the corners for the organ Speakers/regular speakers)). Back in the day, the organ speakers would be put in the corners for silent movies…. Yes, speakers have been around a lot longer than the age of...
Read moreMy family and I went to a movie at this theater and were treated extraordinarily rudely. We were accused of stealing and escorted from the theater because my husband picked up some money he stepped on as we were walking in. We were unaware that this was a cash only business, and were advised at the ticket window that there was an ATM in the lobby. Because the show was about to begin, I used the ATM ($3.00 fee), gave my husband the cash, and he paid for our tickets. We found seats, and about 10 minutes into the movie the window attendant came to my husband and asked that my family step outside. We were accused of stealing money and using that money to pay for our tickets. We were not rude or defensive, just surprised. My husband volunteered that he had found some money on the floor and handed that money to the attendant. I showed him the receipt from the ATM where I had withdrawn the cash used to purchase our tickets. He still insisted that he had seen us stealing on camera. We were detained in the lobby for far longer than was necessary to resolve the situation. He spoke with someone on the phone and then allowed that we could return to the movie. There was no apology or acknowledgement that the found money ($20) had been turned in. I did not feel comfortable staying and asked for my money back so we could leave. To make a bad situation worse, as I was leaving the attendant insisted that he had done nothing wrong and stated once again that we had been caught stealing. I am truly taken aback.. I have never been treated so disrespectfully and rudely. I have never been to this theater before, and I will surely never return. I hope his behavior was not racially motivated (we were one of only 3 groups of people of color), but would love to know if others have had similar bad experiences at...
Read moreMy husband and I went to the window and were treated horribly. Very poor customer service. All I did was go to the window and ask “how are you” before attempting to buy my tickets and the guy in the window (bald middle aged man; maybe around 50 or so) didn’t even reply. He just kind of looked at me like “what do you want”. I asked if the theater takes cards and he replied that they do not which is fine. I was going to use the ATM inside. However the ATM stated error after taking a few minutes to process my request. I definitely have money in my bank account. While I was waiting on the ATM, my husband reported the inappropriate behavior of the window attendant to the man at the counter inside and the employee did not seem to care. I know there’s probably nothing that can be done, but no apology or anything at all was offered. We did not attempt the ATM again and left. We will...
