So I normally really love this place but today was a different story. I called my to go order in at 530 pm. Ordered a fried chicken sandwich and side salad. Got there at 545…walked to the register and the girl asked if I had a to go order. Told her yes she said my total was 17 something. I paid and she handed me a bag. I peeked inside the bag and found 2 burgers. I told her the order I got was wrong. Ok... Not mad... People make mistakes. Then it started getting bad. Instead of putting my order back in so that I wouldn't have to wait much longer she stood in the corner with the other waitresses for a solid 4 minutes talking about what happened...ok.. Then she walked back over to me and this is where the multiple lies began. She said there was a man who also had a to go order and he came in and said that he ordered my exact order when picking it up...lie #1. so I asked her... What did I pay for and she said gave me the receipt for the 2 burgers but then said..."oh but yours would have been much more... Like $23." Lie #2. I looked up the to go app and put in exactly what I ordered... It came to $15.99. plus she knew this because she just rang it up when the two burger man that she gave my food to paid my ticket. Then the man came back in with my food in tow and said he ordered 2 burgers... Funny I thought he asked for my order exactly. she told me she was going to get me a gift card for my trouble since at this point I am late for work and out more money than I should have paid..ok that sounds reasonable... Lie #3. No gift card. Whatever. Just get me my order so I can go to work. She then almost repeated the same mistake. Another woman walked in with a to go order. The waitress brings me my order. Two bags with 3 boxes. Ok. I ordered a chicken sandwich and side salad. What's in the other box? "Oh it's your fried chicken" I didn't order friend chicken. Then the other customer waiting on her order chimes in. That was her order. So had I not caught it that woman to would have been waiting like me. I understand that places and humans make mistakes but don't try to lie your way out of it. That's unprofessional. Just admit your mistake fix it...
Read moreThis place is a time capsule. You walk in and the first thing you notice is the architecture and memorabilia. The food tastes great and seniors will say, "This tastes like how they used to make food" (with love of course). They always play iHeart Radio 50's and their speakers are decently loud but not too loud.
The cheese sticks must be hand-breaded in the back because the flavor is always fresh. They have fair prices around the same as fast food but everything tastes like it could be from Olive Garden or Ruby Tuesdays. They offer malts which many places have stopped making. If you crave a specific flavor of ice cream there's a whit's across the road.
The round'a'bout is clearly visible and many people who have custom cars drive through here which adds to the overall experience. On the other side of the restaurant, there are memorabilia related to firefighters and police officers. The connection to the town is what sets this apart from other places. These two things are what really keep the soul of the 50's ever-present and wouldn't work in a chain restaurant. That's why this place is unique compared to the memorabilia in Zaxby's, it actually means something to the local people.
The waiters and waitresses are always kind and timely. They pay attention more and make sure the job is done right. As a former waiter, this hits close to home. Other places will have staff who are not very authentic or who don't care about their job. At this place, waiters feel personable and genuine.
The thing that I don't think a lot of people realize is that they also do pick-up and delivery. Look on there website and they have a portal which allows you to order online or just call them and you can place an order that way. I've never used it before but I see a lot of people getting pick up when I go in to eat.
If you didn't already know this, Graham Soda Shop also has good relations with Graham Cinema and have done deals in the past to get tickets at Graham Cinema. They used to have a birthday package I believe but I never...
