My overall feeling about this experience about this place is underwhelming. It feels like a mediocre idea poorly executed.
Layout 3/10 As you walk in you are surrounded by a free outdated arcade, you are supposed to know you must pay and play golf first, but no signs or layout indicate this. Once you pay for the golf and enter the course it is pretty easy to follow. It feels more like a creative teens bedroom, who happened to have a bunch of paint and blacklights, than a mini golf course.
Golf 2/10 The course was across 3 rooms. You are basically putting golf on carpeting . There are random bumps under the carpeting supposed to be obstacles, but you can't see them until your ball veers off to the side randomly. The last hole and the 4th hole are probably the most interesting, it feels like they put work into 4 holes total (a few curved ramps and a lighthouse) and then ran out of time and had to install 15 holes so they could open and make money.
Cleanliness 10/10 Hand santitizer was available at random spots. The bathroom smelled good and was clean (3 seperate rooms). I didnt sit in any seats with a puddle of childs pee.
Staff 9/10 Staff seems nice, they had to keep approaching people and telling them they had to pay for glow golf first to play games, which is not their fault, but they seemed nice.
Location 9/10 They are close to my house and make use of a previously...
Read moreGlow in the dark is a cool concept. The courses are simple with very few obstacles. There are also bathrooms and a drinking fountain located in the middle of the mini golf course. This was nice for our group which consisted of 8 people ages 3-41. We were politely asked to do each hole in 2 groups because another group was coming in. We thought it was goofy at first but it really did speed things up and we were still able to visit. $10.50 = one round of mini golf (18 holes) and unlimited arcade (excluding prize machines). $15 = above mentioned plus a refillable drink. Three and under are free, as well as, military and senior discounts. The food area was more like munchies or a snack shack, a bit expensive but cheaper than the theatre prices so I was semi-ok with it. The staff were all polite and friendly. They have about 8 driving arcade games, a couple shooter games, an electronic pinball, foosball, air hockey, and a few miscellaneous ones. They also have a few prize machines you can play for a dollar each. There are three or four tables to sit down at as well. This was a great way to pass the time visiting with family from out of state. We planned this also based on Michigan weather being crazy, small children, and a pregnant woman. We were all happy with our visit and would recommend this for a nice...
Read moreCame here with my 6 and 8 year old boys and my husband for a little friday night family date. The golf was really cool and compared to the loss of interest my 6 year old has normally with regular mini golf, this held his attention pretty well! There's 18 holes, they're not hard, so don't expect a serious mini golf challenge. The best part about the mini golf is the art and the black light and all the scary elements. May not be the best for like a 3 or 4 year old.
After the golf, we played several arcade games. They loved air hockey, pinball and the car racing games. Not all games are included in the price (we paid $12.50 for golf and unlimited arcade games). Such as, the skill crane, hunting games, basketball, skeeball, etc. My kids were super whiny because those weren't free. They have a machine that you can get quarters from with your debit card, but it wasn't working. They had ice cream on our way out (as a bribe!) and they had a ton of fun.
Main reasons for the 4 stars - I don't think they have air conditioning! It was super hot in there. There were a lot of people inside too. So if you wanted to go when it was less crowded, I would not recommend going on a Friday night when it's packed with teenagers.
Overall, a good time...
