Edit: once again today, rather than shop my order, they marked over half of it out of stock. I'm standing in the store looking directly at the items they marked unavailable. Ridiculously lazy employees.
I placed a pick up order yesterday for pick up last night. Unfortunately my work replacement did not come in, this meant I had to stay. I called Meijer on 28th and Kalamazoo in Grand Rapids to let them know I couldn't make it that night to get my order and asked if there was any way they could hold it until the next morning. I was assured this was fine.
I wake up this morning to find my order was canceled. Frustrated, I called into the store and was eventually routed to Chris who assured me we could find a solution, and requested to call me back. I received a call back from a pick up Manager (Tera maybe?) who kindly let me know that they had my order, she had no idea why it showed as canceled on the app and I was welcome to pop in and grab it. At this point some hours had passed and I had to go back to work and I let her know I would be there between 2-3 pm and thanked her. I arrive today at a little before 3 and send a text that I've arrived as my app still reflects my order as canceled. After waiting nearly half an hour with no other cars coming for pickup, I called back into the store. The gentleman I had spoken with the night before apologized and said he'd be right out. About 20 more minutes pass and I get a call back letting me know that they had mismanaged my order and were reshopping it now and would be out shortly and my groceries would be free of charge today.
It was not mentioned that I would be receiving less than half of my order. At this point I have a couple hours of shopping in to fit my family budget. A couple hours into support, now a couple of hours in the parking lot to get home and not have half of what I needed to make a meal for my child.
I'm so entirely disgusted. ESPECIALLY AFTER HAVING RECEIVED A 72 ITEM ORDER ON MY ORDER PRIOR TO THIS PACKED INTO 4 LITTLE BAGS, TO WHICH I LOST MY ENTIRE ORDER IN MY APARTMENT PARKING LOT. ON THIS EVENT I CALLED THE STORE AND WAS TOLD BY A DIRECTOR THAT I WOULD BE CREDITED AFTER SHARING PHOTOS OF THAT WHOLE DISASTER- CREDITS I NEVER RECEIVED.
Before about a month ago I never had an issue. With family members who work as pick up directors at other locations, I am very understanding with error, and offer a lot of patience. I get it. But this, was where the line was crossed. This was my last shipping...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe majority of the store is fine but the deli counter is absolutely infuriating. Writing a complaint is very unlike me. In fact, this is the only time that I have done this but I am to the point of taking my business elsewhere. I even set up this google plus account solely for this purpose.
I come to this Meijer because it is close to the house I moved into 2 years ago. Since I have been coming to this Meijer the ticket machine at the deli counter hasn't worked. So needless to say when there is a lot of people waiting it gets to be a huge mess.
We typically get a pound of turkey every week. Not a difficult order. This is what I have experienced the last two weeks that I have visited the deli counter.
Last week, I was the only customer at the counter. There were 4 people behind the counter. It took a few minutes for anyone to acknowledge that I was even standing there. The guy who waited on me was painfully slow. So much so that I kept an eye on the time. He spent most of his time visiting with the handyman who was replacing the blades on the machine. The other workers were literally doing nothing. The only time they waited on someone was when a Meijer worker in a blue button up shirt, presumably a manager, came to get his break food. Fifteen minutes later.... I finally had my turkey. It wasn't a pound and even though I asked for more the guy just printed out the sticker, slapped it on the bag and handed it to me.
Today I visited and there were 5 people behind the counter. There was one other customer there. Only one worker was actually doing something. She was wiping down a machine. After not being acknowledged for several minutes I asked the guy if he'd been helped yet, he rolled his eyes and said I guess she's working on it and pointed to the lady cleaning the machine. He was visible unhappy and I get the feeling he had been waiting quite awhile.
These are just the most recent experiences. It's very rare that I've had a tolerable experience at this deli. Every other Meijer deli I've been to seems to function well so I think it's something that can be fixed.
This is ridiculous. Maybe I am in the minority on this with receiving horrible service but I know that I will no longer be coming to this Meijer for anything from the deli. It's definitely not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe moved into the area, after shopping at Rivertown Meijer for the past 7 years. We've now made three different trips to this Meijer, twice to pick up a few things, and once for actual grocery shopping.
I hope this review doesn't offend anyone, but I'm hoping it shines a light on how far this Meijer has become. When we were teenagers, this Meijer was always dubbed the "ghetto" Meijer. I haven't been here in years, and well, I don't recognize it at all. Which is good and bad. It's been updated at some point obviously, but they layout is so strange compared to other Meijer stores I've been in. The Deli, Frozen, and Dairy are in the center of the store with the clothes. It definitely has taken us some work to find everything. But it was nice to see such a melting pot of consumers at this store now. It was a mix of all walks of life. My only complaint, is all three times it was busier than I've seen Rivertown Meijer. And though I can tolerate waiting in line, I'm working on being a patient man, the fact the shelves are constantly empty doesn't help the rating. I feel the store is too busy and it cannot keep up with the stock levels. They were out of a lot of things.
The lady at the self scan lanes was nice. Some cookies rang up wrong compared to the sticker price from the bakery, and she adjusted the price for us. We kept telling her to look at the cookies as proof, but she trusted us. And our grocery visit last Sunday, the lady at the register who rung us up, at first glance, she didn't look happy, and we thought she was going to be rude. She ended up being awesome. She asked my pregnant wife if the candy she bought was going to make it home, and gave it to her to put in her pocket, and then made the same joke, as she handed me the 20 oz soda. I don't even care that she was eating chips at the lane. People get hungry. She was kind, that's what I cared about.
All in all, we just need to get used to this strange layout. And hopefully they can keep things more adequately stocked. Otherwise, we're excited to call this diverse Meijer our new home store.
Update. This Meijer NEVER has Gentlease Formula in stock. This Meijer doesn't believe in...
