We stopped here on my birthday since it’s new to the neighborhood and we hadn’t had a chance to visit before. It is lovely! The owner Alba has so thoughtfully curated items from Guatemala for baking, cooking, drinking, and eating. On top of that, there are about 20+ different baked goods made at the store. Our favorites were the anise bread, which is soft and beautifully flavored, and the buttery, flaky, melt-in-your mouth turnover. The owner was very kind and helpful, and we are so excited to visit again to try something new. What a wonderful addition to the neighborhood - wishing her...
Read moreI've been driving by this little gem for far too long! I finally stopped in and I was delighted to find a cute little shop packed full of Hispanic cooking supplies, snacks, and baked goods. The selection of cakes, cookies, and pastries is amazing! Everything is clearly baked fresh in-house. The kind lady behind the counter informed me that people eat cookies for breakfast in Guatemala, so I'm currently eating a cookie for breakfast. (In the name of cross-cultural learning, of course.) She also convinced me to add a tamale to my order; I don't anticipate regretting that decision at lunch time. I expect I will return again and again to this delightful oasis of...
