Have been going to the Grandview fair before they even thought of a rodeo. They never had big name singers. The draw was for friends and neighbors to support their kids, grandkids etc in 4H and FFA. The corn was the talk of the town and they had draft horse pulls. They had a small carnival with a couple of rides. With the times things have changed...no one wants to really put their time in to help. Dedicated Veterinarians volunteer their time, dedicated parents and a handful of volunteers that want to see kids succeed. The Grandview fair and parade was about community and kids! The Grandview fair and rodeo is still about kids and seeing old friends. It will be a sad day when no one volunteers and the fair is no more! I was sad to read negative comments..kids learn alot and become responsible at these little home town fairs.
