Gordon Food Service Store — Local services in Green Township

I am giving them a 3 only because the store manager himself had to do some meat slicing for me, he was polite and friendly as he has always been in the past. That being said, I am a business customer who has done business with GFS for over 13 years at this same location. When I reached the check out line the young lady who waited on me was unable to make me feel like my business mattered. There were a couple of things, however the most disturbing was her response when I enquired about a possible box or a bag for my purchases. Her response was "Well you can just get what we got! " At first I was flabbergasted, then I proceeded to look in the box bin not 2 feet from her, found a box, to box up my purchases. I have 34 years experience in food service. I have supported this store since the day they opened. Even though they are more expensive then other companies, they have always been clean and close by. After years of shopping there for wedding, booster events, business, festivables...ect. I was turned down today when I asked cashier Colleen for some boxes as we are cleaning up my brother's place from the spring flood. She said I could have two. The bins were overflowing so I was upset. I Asked to see a manager. Curt came out. I explained and he to him and he too turned me down. A very friendly, helpful group staffs this store. I have never been disappointed with anything I've purchased from GFS at this location except a frozen bag of GFS biscuits; they don't compare, with the Pillsbury brand I buy at this store, for taste, and/or appearance of finished product. I love the thick-cut bacon slices and the bun-size sausage patties! The patties don't shrink , have an excellent taste and are a good deal. The same observation applies...
