For many many years, I have traveled to Schaefer market exclusively just for their anti-pasta salad, you would always have to go early in the morning because it would sell out every day by mid afternoon. I was happy to see that they were open again this season and quickly rushed there to go get a 2 pound batch of it, I’ve been craving it all winter long! I get home, shake up the container to mix the dressing in with the anti pasta salad as it sits in the bottom, this is to be expected. When I opened it up, I was shocked. ! They have changed the recipe! There are now all kinds of olives in there that never used to be, there are now ringed, red peppers, and other peppers in there that never used to be, and it is now spicy! They have changed the dressing also! It is not the same, I will never go by this again, and I know many people when they taste. Read moreI love Shaffer's. They never disappoint with their beautiful selections of fruits and vegetables. You can also pick up some hard to find items. They have an awesome Deli, and the ladies behind the counter are great. There is always a really nice selection of prepared foods and hot items. Rotisserie Chicken fresh everyday, too. Amish baked goods as well as local bakeries.. Leaches (from Barberton), and Ideal bakery in Springfield. Fresh breads, rolls, cookies and cakes...and the Troyer's Pies!!!!!! They also stock milk, butter, eggs and other dairy products. The people working there are super friendly and helpful. Shaffer's is the best fresh market in the Akron area. They also sell Seasonal items too.. flowers, plants .. etc in their Greenhouses, and pumpkins, gourds, hay, and corn in the fall. Definitely a great place to shop. FIVE STAR ALL THE Way. Plenty of parking too(paved lot) and easy to get in and out. ...
Read moreDon't know what was going on today but I witnessed the owner make a older lady cry today. The owner was on a rampage she was going around the store screaming at her employees saying "it's my job " as they looked at her as if she was crazy, no one seemed to know what she was talking about. Then she put her finger in this old woman's face saying the same thing. She said she shops here every week, don't think her or I will be back. I was shocked at the treatment this customer received. Remember your customers are your livelihood....
