Just the other day, on National Root Beer Float Day, I was with my dad. I had seen the advertisement about giving away free root beer floats, and I had asked my dad if we can go there. My dad was also going to make a donation to the Disabled American Veterans. We waited for 10 to 15 minutes. We were completely ignored. They served everybody, but us. If I remember correctly, I thought I saw someone else pull in 5 minutes after us, and they got served. It was a little crowded that day. So, I can understand if it takes a little time. But we waited 15 minutes in a hot car (actually a pickup truck) on a 90°F day. We finally left, but I was very disappointed. I want absolutely nothing to do with the Greensburg (Indiana) A&W. It was almost like a scene I'd see on television, where a restaurant would refuse service to someone for being black. Except we are white! Their customer service stinks. They show favoritism, possibly to current students of North Decatur High School (I used to go there myself, many years ago). I feel like we were discriminated against. I don't want anything to do with that particular restaurant again. I've never even had their food, and the food advertised on their coupons look really good. But I will not go back to a restaurant that is going to completely ignore me, as though I was not there at all. They need to be permanently shut down for corrupt business practices. I don't have the patience to just wait and wait and wait, just to leave empty handed without even having our order taken. McDonald's, Burger King, Wendy's, etc., have good food and much better...
Read moreI was really looking forward to visiting A&W in Greensburg since I hadnât been to one since I was a kid, but unfortunately, this was one of the worst fast food experiences Iâve had in a long time.
From the moment we pulled in, things felt off. The server was at our door almost immediately, standing there waiting for us to place our order, which made us feel rushed and uncomfortable. After ordering, the real frustration beganâthe wait time for our food was a ridiculous 45 minutes. This wasnât even during their busiest time, so we couldnât figure out why it took so long.
To make matters worse, we could see the employeesâwho all looked like teenagersâhuddled inside, chatting and on their phones instead of working. When we finally got our food, it was incompleteâwe were missing a fry, a hot dog, and a pop. It took me a good five minutes just to get their attention through the window, and then another 25 minutes to get the missing items.
I left feeling completely disappointed and frustrated. The management really needs to revisit who they hire and how they train their staff because the lack of professionalism and service was unacceptable. I definitely wonât be going back. Save yourself the headache and try...
Read moreOrder called ahead for 3 pc chicken, cole slaw, large diet root beer. Was told it would be ready in 30 minutes. Arrived 30 minutes later and was told it would be out. 10 minutes later, it came out slid on a paper tray in a loosely fitting paper bag. The bag was not even fully opened to the bottom. Cole slaw was thrown in on the side of the lukewarm chicken and it was in a plastic cup so it could have gotten heated up by the chicken before it was brought out. A wrinkled piece of waxed paper lay loosely on the chicken. Ticket was stapled to the bag waving like a loose flag in the wind. For $13 this was totally unacceptable. This was on Wednesday evening (7/23) at 7:39 pm. Also clothing of car hop was not professional (shortest shorts barely covered things). Many years ago I worked as a teenage carhop at a drive in in northern Illinois (1966 era) locally owned and none of this would have been happening. What a difference time makes! Not spending my money ever again nor wasting precious gas to drive for a meal as...
