I don't typically post reviews unless my experience really stands out one way or another. I've been fortunate enough to do a good bit of business over the years with Hale's, particularly with Matthew, and thought it was about time I shared my stand out experience in case it helps other future customers.
On the surface, it's an extremely well run store that's immaculately maintained with great interior design. Staff members that I've interacted with have also been nothing but wonderful, and there is a friendly unpretentious vibe to this tore.
My go to person has been Matthew though and is the highlight of my customer experience there and why I keep going back to Hale's rather than anywhere else. He's able to quickly and easily take care of whatever needs I may have whether it's with jewelry or watches.
It's easy for people in sales to be nice when things are going smoothly, but the mark of integrity and good business values is when things don't go so smoothly. There was a small issue I had with a jewelry order which was entirely my fault and had nothing to do with Hale's. Matthew went out of his way to make things right, even though it was completely unnecessary and due to my mistake. It all worked out and turned out to be a non-issue in the end, but he handled it in such a graceful classy way which is a unique quality in retail sales.
I've had a great experience not just purchasing jewelry, but watches from Hale's. The Rolex area in particular is very impressive and feels like a distinct store within a store. I've been to many Rolex authorized dealers over the years, and this store is by far the best one I've been to with Matthew giving me impeccable concierge level service. I'd like to think of myself as a well versed watch connoisseur, but his knowledge can't be matched. He's both knowledgable, courteous, and overall a great guy to talk to who never rushes or pressures you.
Hope this helps if you're looking on the look out for jewelry or watches...
Read moreI have nothing but good things to say about my experience with Hales. For the past two years I have gotten to know almost all the employees there and most of them know me on a first name basis. Mary Alice was my first experience helping me to pick out my wedding ring and even worked with me on a layaway for it. Most recently I have been working with Matthew and Steven who helped me with a couple projects including a custom ring for my mother. They worked with me patiently on that project for months while I tried to find exactly what I wanted. Also, With a huge passion for watches they also helped me to find the perfect watch for my father. They really make me feel like take my requests seriously and keep them in consideration. Now, I visit them them roughly once a week mainly just for conversation, friendship, and to discuss my future intentions regarding my jewelry obsession. I hear a lot of horror stories of dealing with Rolex AD snobs who laugh at their customer requests and express derogatory behaviors towards customers. I have never experienced that with Hales. I do feel guilty of perhaps wasting their time with conversation after the fact, but they never make me feel that way at the time even after I express that I have no intention to make a purchase right then. They answer all my questions with respect, and even entertain me with my outlandish dreams of owning very expensive purchases. Even the simple act of letting me try on a yellow gold Rolex day date presidential meant a lot to me. Even if it is a sales technique of treating all customers with respect to gain store loyalty, Hales has my respect and lifelong loyalty. I intend to continue my weekly visits (sorry to Matthew and Steven in advance) just for the sake of conversation and friendship. Hales makes me feel like my relationship with them is more than transactional. It feels genuine.
Thank you all for your what you do! I will...
Read moreI came to Hale's about a year ago to have a battery replaced in a watch. When entering, I was approached by a sales person, and I told them I was interested in having the battery replaced. They said that this could be done. It took the fella about 10 minutes to replace the battery. Price was more than acceptable. I asked if they pressurized the watch and he said no, that they do not have the tools to do so. He said if I was not going to use the watch under water, then it would not be an issue. So much for water resistance. I noticed that the back of the case had a scratch on it that was not there when I handed the watch over. I unfortunately did not say anything about the scratch or the fact that they didn't have the proper tools to pressurize the watch. Since having this battery replaced, the watch has not kept time. It intermittently acts as if the battery is going bad. Now I have to send the watch back to the manufacturer to see if it can be properly repaired (should have just done this in the first place). I understand that the watch may not be one that you all sell, and it may only be a $300 watch, and that I probably looked like a scrubby mountain man when I came in, but your sales personnel should understand that if they cannot complete a battery replacement correctly, then they shouldn't be doing this and should have just turned me away or made a recommendation to contact the manufacturer. Especially when they return the time piece with a scratch on the back case. I would not recommend going there for any sort of...
