Tropical Grille Verdae — Restaurant in Greenville

In an effort to give the company an opportunity to correct ongoing problems at the Verdae Blvd Greenville SC I placed a complaint with Tropical Grille online website twice with no response, so a public review it is! This location should be shut down, the food and service here is completely unacceptable!!! Rice is consistently undercooked and chicken is overcooked to the point that neither is edible, shrimp is so salty it too is not edible. The staff here clearly do not care about their job and have ZERO customer service skills or work ethic. The lady at the drive thru on multiple occasions was rude as she slings the food, rolls her eyes to questions and her tone more than shows she should not be working with the public. Multiple occasions where the lid is not on the bowl and food all in my bag. The staff here do not know the difference between the regular and large bowl sizes and on multiple occasions I have received two regular sized bowls when i ordered one regular and one large, this is evident by the SAME BOWL SIZE AND PORTION SIZE given to me, and yes I weighed them after this has happened repeatedly!! This is theft and infuriating!!! On multiple occasions when calling to place an order, both male and female staff have no idea how to place an order and repeatedly say "wait, what?" then repeat the order back wrong multiple times, it is complete insanity trying to talk to these people and i finally just say forget it and hang up. They would do better not answering the phone at all! Whether on the phone or in person there are people yelling and talking vulgar and inappropriately!! On a corporate policy note they should change the bowl shapes/sizes to clearly differentiate between the regular and large size bowls if staff is too incompetent to serve what we pay for! There should not be a 2 sauce limit on large bowl sizes when you are getting more food than the regular thus need more sauce, atleast 3-4 should be given, and the staff at Verdae Blvd has been aggressive, rude and argumentative about this, OVER SAUCE!!!! I have visited this location out of pure convenient proximity to me, but never again! This place was a random stop without searching, and it turned out to be amazing. Passed by this place on the way to work and kept it in rhe back of my head. On the way back from work I couldnt help it and pulled in. Lol had the smash burger and the cuban pork bbq sandwich both with fries. Both were excellent, the pulled pork was really flavorful and the onion and bbq sauce tied it all together. For not being a bbq joint this sandwhich produces like a highly rated bbq spot! The burger was the absolute highlight of the meal we devoured it without even talking, just nodding at each other, saying, without saying, that it was incredible! The fries that came with it were also very very good. After clearing our throats and being able to talk, we both agreed that it was one of the best burgers we have had, and that a big part of the reason is they know how to properly season every thing! Evenly seasoned. Well seasoned. Pure juicy flavor! They have a cool upstairs seating area so there is plenty of space for everyone when this place is packed. A couple of small gripes, i asked the cashier what was the go to items, what does eveyone usually get? The young kid looked at me blank and then said very unsure of himself, i dont know? Ok fair enough. Needs a little work on the customer service side, glad hes working and doing his part, but management this young man needs some training. The lady standing behind him just stood there blank as well with no response. My second gripe was that the food was soo good we decided to ordee thier chicken sandwhich, we got it breaded and spicy hot. This hot sauce was not good. I understand this place is "tropical" but that hot sauce on the sandwhich was terrible. I recently had the pleasure of dining at Tropical Grille on Verdae Boulevard in Greenville, and I was blown away by the food, the service, and the overall experience. I was particularly impressed by my waitress, Sophia, who was exceptionally friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu.

Sophia took the time to recommend dishes that she thought I would enjoy, and she was right on the money. I started with the jerk chicken wings, which were perfectly cooked and had a delicious, flavorful marinade. For my main course, I had the grilled salmon, which was moist and flaky, and it came with a delicious side of roasted vegetables. I finished my meal with the chocolate lava cake, which was rich and decadent.

In addition to the great food, Sophia also provided excellent service. She was always attentive and made sure that my water glass was full. She also took the time to answer my questions about the menu and the restaurant. I felt like she really cared about making sure that I had a good experience.

Overall, I had a wonderful dining experience at Tropical Grille, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal in Greenville. I would also specifically ask for Sophia as your waitress, because she is truly exceptional.
