This is an update from my review over a year ago. I stopped in the new Royal Farms that just opened today at the corner of 264W Alt and 264/Pactolus Highway in Greenville. Their gas prices are competitive with Samās Club if you have the Rofo pay card. So I do use them for purchasing gas. I decided to give the chicken a try again. It was very hot (temperature-wise), but not a lot of spice or flavor. I ordered 2 piece meal with 1 side, no drink, no biscuit. I chose mashed potatoes as the side. Then the kiosk asked if I wanted any sauce. I started to say no, then realized gravy was one of the choices. I thought it meant extra gravy on the mashed potatoes. No!!! You have to PAY for gravy at this place! Who orders mashed potatoes without gravy?? Just like chips and salsa or bread and butter, or bread and olive oilāitās PART OF THE DISH!!! But they charged $1.19 for gravy!! Gravy that consists of flour, water a bit of chicken broth and WAY too much Pepper. So it costs about 10Ā¢ to make! Charge 10Ā¢ more for the overpriced mashed potatoes ($2.99) but donāt make me pay $1.19 extra for gravy. So the 2 pieces of chicken was $7.99. Supposed to be a āmeal dealā. But I was charged $1.19 for gravy, $2.99 for mashed potatoes and I got an extra side of Mac & cheese (to see if that had improved from a year ago) for $2.99. With taxes it came to $12.99. NO drink, NO biscuit! Whatās the ādealā part of the meal deal??? So for me this is the last time Iāll eat here. I canāt justify $13 for a thigh, a chicken leg, mac & cheese, and mashed potatoes and gravy; all small sizes. I can get way more than that at Parkerās or even Kentucky Fried chicken (which has way more flavor) to their chicken. Iāll continue to buy gas here as long as they remain competitive to Samās Club gas prices, but Iāll never go into the store to buy anything again. And Iām dropping my review of the food to one star. Itās severely overpriced and under flavored. Donāt waste your hard earned money here.
And as for the canned manager/owner response to each one of our complaints: Dude, your response is completely insincere. You cut and paste the exact same response to everyone, no matter what the complaint is. Itās insincere. Itās taking no effort on your part and Iām not interested in what you have to say because you arenāt addressing the specific complaint. So please donāt bother putting your canned, cut and pasted, copied, response to this review. I've been excited to try the "world famous chicken" so drove by today. There was a line, but I waited 10 minutes to get food. Chicken is bland, no discernable flavor to it. Not sure what the people calling it "spicy" were talking about, but it wasn't the chicken I got. It was hot though. Other reviewers have commented on getting " different batches" of chicken in a bucket that clearly tasted different, so clearly there are problems with cooking consistency in first week. They opened on Thursday. The Mac and cheese was dry and old, no visible cheese, very dried out batch that clearly was pre-packaged. Same with the mash potatoes. They are very bland and the gravy is over peppered. I think they pre-package food early in the day and just microwave it when you order. The containers are very hot when they give them to you, but the food inside the cardboard container are not fresh. I returned the Mac and cheese and asked for a fresh container. After about 5 minutes, I did get a fresh serving, full of creamy cheese, much better. So check your food before you leave. The biscuit was good, but costs extra, which is surprising . It was .70Ā¢. Thatās not expensive, but considering itās a few tablespoons of flour and water (costs MAYBE .05Ā¢ to make), it should come free with the combo meal. All in all, for $17 for 3 PCs of (dark meat) chicken, Mac & cheese & mashed potatoes & gravy, I don't think I'd go out of my way to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis was our first time here The service we received from Mr. Arice/Apice (sorry, I glanced his nametag for just a second) at the ordering kiosk was friendly and informative. You walk in and have the great variety of a Sheetz gas station with a heavy emphasis on fried chicken. It's in the namesake, so there you go. We ordered with Mr. A's help and for what we got, it's comparable to current day KFC prices. I liked that I could get Krispy Kreme donuts individually here without having to go all the way around Greenville. I got regular seasoning on my tenders while the husband got the spicy. He says they have a good bit of heat and he likes that sort of thing but maybe won't do it every trip to the 'farm. Things to know for next time: The wedges were unsalted so, be sure to season as soon as you get them. The mashed potatoes were doing okay until... we turned over the gravy container. We let Mr. "A" know so they could check the dates a little closer. The tenders were juicy and a good size. We paid at the self checkout a couple of times since we got hot food then a donut for the road. I don't think either of us got to interact with the attendant there but she kept busy and handled a difficult transaction professionally when I was watching other people use the kiosks. I wish I got her name too. All I know is she was an older lady. We've found a different little spot to break away from our...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDifference in the stores down here vs up north is night and day. Seems like the higher ups arenāt fully invested into these stores. Went to this one a couple times as itās close to home but never again. Iāll go to Sheetz or Wawa. The fact that I had to assist one of their customers as a customer myself in showing the lady how to purchase gas on the self checkout was wild. This was Tuesday February 11th 2025 around 7pm. Manager on shift was a blond white girl. Chicken case was nearly empty. They snuck a breast in my 3pc dark meat bc Iām assuming they only had 1 thigh cooked. More 1 star reviews than any other number and it shows why in every visit. If youāre gonna have piss poor attitudes towards your customers then you better have 5 star food. And they donāt. Prices are higher than Wawa and Sheetz on pretty much everything in store. Iāve worked in the marketing department for another food company for the last 6 years and I can say the way this place underperforms time and time again would make my job a living nightmare. I would recommend trying the other stores in the area before giving these folks any money. Itās obvious they wonāt make any changes unless we hit them in...
