Not only is this the best Mediterranean/Middle Eastern Restaurant that I've seen in this area, hands down, the owners are very nice people. Omar, Asif, Magd, Sharaz and so many more in this family owned business, have made this a success. They were all there, making it work! Ahmed/Magd were my waiters and they were absolutely ready to serve us at anytime as well as any other person whom happened to be walking by our table. They were always there to serve us. That servants' heart that they obviously possess made us feel more than welcome. When they weren't serving, they were cleaning or whatever, always keeping the restaurant in tip top shape. I hope they'll keep this restaurant around so I can continue to get my awesome falafel, baba ganoush, grape leaves, tzatiki and hummus. My son got the chicken shawarma and I almost wanted his! And for $6.99?? If we had made it an hour earlier, we would've gotten it for $4.99! Who even does that?? Their prices are out of this world!! I didn't even mention the fresh pita bread they sell in packages at the door. Their menus were colorful and professional. Their business cards were the same. They didn't throw this together. It took time, effort, collaboration and cooperation on everyone's part. I don't know personally about their business, but I know what I observed. Our area needs this healthy food instead of McDonald's burgers and greasy saturated fried chicken for a change. It's the first time I've been. I was MORE than impressed and I will be going back. My son says he will be going there for his lunch/supper on his ECU long days. And there's another thing I observed while I was there. A man had left his wallet from when he had lunch there earlier in the day. The wallet was still standing up beside the napkin holder in perfect condition and no one had touched it. Not only does this prove the honesty of the customers who eat there ;-), but it proves honesty of the employees and owners. And I MUST mention the love these ppl have for children. Some restaurants even tell you to not bring your children. But these guys love kids!! I know when I take my children in somewhere to eat, I want them to be talked to with respect. Afterall, they are learning how to deal with the public and in public situations. IE: How to order, how to say yes ma'am, no sir, etc. , ask waiters in the correct vocabulary for things that they need, ask for directions to the bathroom, or simply how to deal with the public. It always makes my children feel intimidated to feel pushed aside or for them to be ignored as if they aren't there. I was absolutely taken back with how they even asked them questions and talked to them on their level. It's simply unreal for this day and time. Thank you for providing us with such a great experience, from eating and providing such a relaxing atmosphere to the unspeakable hospitality as well! I can't say thank you enough ! I'm actually posting a photo of what I had leftover to take home AFTER getting so full! My 2 sons, little girl and myself had enough to much on for a midnight snack that night! That tzatiki in the pita bread and those tornado fries were off the chain! "Come on in!" is my suggestion and get a sampler if you like healthy, delicious food!...
Read moreBLATANTLY DISRESPECTFUL! Never ever again! I used go there from time to time and the food was pretty good. However, I ordered mere salad and sandwich to-go today and I waited for 25 minutes! During which time: 1) the restaurant was virtually empty (two people dining in); 2) Another person came in about ten minutes after me who seemed to know the owners and ordered twice as much food as me, received their food within six minutes and left; 3) The restaurant had three workers in the kitchen, and a waitress/host out front; 4) After around twenty minutes, I asked, the waitress "How much longer?" She said not long and went to the bathroom and stayed for a good while. I told here I've got to leave and she said, "Oh! He's boxing up your food right now." She went to back to kitchen and after waiting for someone/anyone to come out after several minutes. I left. EVEN AFTER PAYING, there was NO WAY I could possibly enjoy their food! That was the VERY FIRST TIME I've ever felt so disrespected (at any restaurant in my lifetime) where I didn't care about leaving and paying without getting any food! OMG! What a horror story! I don't think I even want to drive by that...
Read moreWe waited 15 minutes to be greated once the waitress told us to have a seat. We ordered drinks and the sampler and asked for a little more time to look over the menu at the entrees. We got our drinks and waited patiently for our appetizer wich took a total of 30 minutes and then decided not to order food as we didn’t want to wait and additional 30-4O minutes for more food. The waitress then asked if we wanted pita bread with our humus sampler!?! Ommmm duhhh!?! So we waited an additional 10mins for that. I mean isn’t that what you eat with hummus? Another couple came in and sat down beside us and waited at least 20 minutes to be greated; meanwhile a cook/owner chatted with another table beside them the whole time they sat there, looked right at them and then walked away without even greeting them or checking on why they hadn’t been greeted. One of the patrons the owner had been chatting with finally got up and let the waitress know about the ungreated guest. Sadly, there’s more stuff I can post but I’m tired of typing. Just not sure how this place has such high reviews as the service...
